If you’re looking for a five-passenger SUV with power, comfort, and all the latest technology, you need to visit Koons Woodbridge Hyundai and check out the Santa Fe and Tuscon models. We have one of the most expansive inventories of these two SUVs in the Washington, D.C., area.

You’re sure to find the perfect vehicle with all the amenities you crave at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai priced to fit any budget. If you already narrowed down your options and are trying to choose between the Santa Fe and the Tuscon, here’s some help.

Santa Fe Performance

The five-passenger Santa Fe offers three powertrain options. The standard gasoline engine delivers balanced performance and efficiency. Santa Fe’s turbocharged engine provides a more thrilling drive without sacrificing efficiency, but the hybrid powertrain gives you exceptional efficiency with all the capability you need. Hyundai offers its HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive system on every model, giving your family the ability to take the road less traveled without worrying if you’ll get through the rougher patches.

When properly equipped, the Santa Fe can tow up to 3,500 pounds. An available Trailer Sway Control system works with your Electronic Stability Control system to keep you and your trailer moving in your intended direction. The system senses when the trailer begins to sway and automatically reduces throttle and engages braking to stabilize your Santa Fe and trailer.

Santa Fe Trim Highlights

You can do it all in the ultimate comfort with the Calligraphy trim. You get the luxurious amenities that elevate your ride and the performance of HTRAC standard. Premium Nappa leather seats and quilted leather door panels add interior refinement, while the signature front fascia with LED lighting and 20-inch alloy wheels give you a sophisticated curb appeal.

Highlights on the Santa Fe base model SE include the 2.5-liter Smartstream four-cylinder engine that gets 26 mpg combined. It comes with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection (FCA-Ped), an 8-inch color touchscreen display audio, 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights. The SEL trim adds Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car system, and wireless charging for your smartphone.

The Limited model builds on the lower trims by adding Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), which lets you remotely park your vehicle in tight spaces and safely move them out. You also get 19-inch alloy wheels, the Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), and the Surround View Monitor (SVM). The BVM and SVM let you see areas around your Santa Fe to help you better navigate. Hyundai uses the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine for impressive power-on-demand while still delivering a 25 mpg combined rating.

Hyundai offers several Santa Fe hybrid trims starting with the Hybrid Blue. This powertrain uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid four-cylinder engine that gets 34 mpg combined. HTRAC AWD comes standard, along with a 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster, a hands-free smart liftgate with auto open functionality, and the BCA system. The Hybrid SEL Premium model adds 19-inch alloy wheels and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation. You also enjoy the panoramic sunroof.

Finally, you have the Hybrid Limited trim. The mpg combined rating dips to 32, yet you get the HTRAC AWD plus the BVM, SVM, and RSPA systems as standard features.

Santa Fe Technology

Now you can sync your smartphones to your standard 8-inch touchscreen or the available 10.25-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability allow you hands-free operation and access to all your favorite apps. Additional available driver-assist systems include Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert (Ultrasonic ROA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), High Beam Assist (HBA), and Smart Cruise Control (SCC).

Tuscon Performance

While the Tuscon measures slightly smaller than the Santa Fe, it comes up big in some pretty remarkable ways. You have three powertrain options with the Tuscon. A standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine puts out 187 horsepower with a 29 mpg combined rating. The 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines provide power and efficiency rating at 38 mpg combined.

The sculpted athletic exterior speaks to its capability even while parked at the curb. The available HTRAC AWD system backs up the look with the performance you can rely on. When properly equipped, the Tuscon can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

Tuscon Trim Highlights

The Hyundai Tuscon base model SE uses the 2.5-liter engine with multi-port fuel injection technology. It also comes with an 8-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. LED signature lighting illuminates your way, plus you get the ROA system to alert you when rear passengers or gear gets left in the back seat. You get a proximity key with pushbutton start on the SEL model. Hyundai also gives you heated seats, the Bluelink connected car system, and the BCA driver-assist system.

Moving to the Limited trim, you get the upgraded 10.25-inch touchscreen audio display with navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and the BVM and RSPA driver-assist systems. The Hybrid Blue model comes with the 1.6-liter turbo hybrid powertrain with HTRAC AWD standard. You also get the Bluelink connected car system to go with the BCA and SCC driver-assist systems.

The Hybrid Blue Convenience trim upgrades to 19-inch alloy wheels and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The Hybrid Limited trim comes with the 10.25-inch touchscreen standard and the BVM and RSPA driver-assist systems.

Tuscon Technology

As you might expect, the Hyundai offers all the same driver-assist systems on the Tuscon as the Santa Fe. These systems use advanced radar and cameras to monitor and alert you to potential problems and, in some cases, can intervene with emergency steering and brake support.

When you compare the Santa Fe and the Tuscon, you will find that they both have exceptional qualities.
