How amazing can a three-row SUV be for a family? If the car is the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Palisade SUV, it can be really impressive. This SUV, which was not too boxy, appeared and swept the globe by storm. The Palisade immediately emerged as one of the market’s trendiest SUVs. The latest design for the 2023 model year adds an incredible level of flair to the three-row SUV segment.

With an elevated cabin, a comfortable ride, modern features, and enough room for the whole family, it’s simple to understand why the Palisade has been a hit for Hyundai. As popular as the Palisade is, it is expected to become even more popular as a result of its revamped design and additional features across all trim levels.

Hyundai’s 2023 Palisade

The biggest SUV from the brand ranges from its value-oriented basic trim to the posh Calligraphy model, which provides the finest impersonation of a Genesis GV80. The Palisade is powered by a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that produces 291 horsepower with an eight-speed automated powertrain. Many communication and technology options are standard across the lineup, with premium models receiving amenities like in-dash navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and quilted leather upholstery. The Palisade’s cabin is large and comfortable for the entire family, regardless of trim level.

What’s New in 2023?

The Palisade will receive a redesign for the 2023 model, giving it a more squared-off look. The redesigned wheel designs complement the new style, and some new amenities have been added to the interior. The instrument panel of the Palisade has been overhauled with a higher-resolution 12.0-inch touch screen, dynamic voice recognition, a reworked steering wheel, and new upholstery options. Heated third-row seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a massaging driver’s seat are among the new amenities.

The portfolio now includes a rugged-looking XRT variant with blacked-out exterior trim, 20-inch wheels, and other aesthetic touches. The Palisade’s main competition has always been the mechanically comparable Kia Telluride, but that brand model is also getting a facelift this year, so the fight is bound to continue.

Performance, Engine, and Transmission

The Palisade’s gearbox may be shifted manually using steering-wheel-mounted paddles. When ascending hills, the gearbox changes seamlessly on its own, but there is some hectic shuffling of the gears.

Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available as an option on the Limited, SEL, and SE trim levels, but standard on the Calligraphy. All Palisade models include a trailer pre-wiring, gearbox cooler, and sway control as standard provision. When coupled with the dealer-installed trailer hitch, it can pull up to 5,000 pounds.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

As per the EPA, the front-wheel-drive Palisade gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The Palisade is assessed at 19 city and 24 highway mpg when fitted with all-wheel drive.

Cargo, Interior, and Comfort

The SEL and SE trim levels accommodate eight people, while the Calligraphy and Limited trim levels include second-row captain’s seats that lower passenger capacity to seven. In any case, there is plenty of room for people in all three rows. A button in the second row moves the seat forward, allowing easier access to the third row. The seating arrangement of the 2023 Palisade allows for two persons to occupy the third row. Passengers dislike this row on colder days since the chairs aren’t heated. That ends with the 2023 model, which has heated third-row seats to keep everyone cozy and warm.

The road noise is muffled, but a significant quantity of wind noise enters via the doors. Power-folding second and third-row seats are optional on the SEL but standard on the Calligraphy and Limited. With all seats folding, the cargo room is 86 cubic feet, and the Palisade held 33 carry-on luggage in our tests. Stowage is done with the second row upright and the third row folded.

Connectivity and Infotainment

All models have a 12.0-inch touch screen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth connection, and in-dash navigation. There are up to seven USB connections accessible, and you may connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

The Palisade can be remotely locked, unlocked, and started using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa when fitted with Hyundai’s Blue Link app service. Simply input your car key into Apple Wallet. Then, hold your Apple Watch or iPhone near the door handle to unlock it. You can also share a digital key by texting it to compatible phones. This function is compatible with Apple Watch 5 and later, iPhone XR and later, and Galaxy S20 and later, with sharing across phones possible only if the platforms are the same.

Driver Assistance and Safety Features

On higher trim levels, practically every modern safety system may be fitted on top of the base safety equipment. Visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety websites for more information on the Palisade’s crash-test results. The following are important safety features:

  • Adaptive cruise control standard with semi-autonomous driving mode.
  • Lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assistance.
  • Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian recognition.

Using route information from the navigation system, navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) with Stop and Go and Curve Control can automatically modify vehicle speed when driving on highways. NSCC only operates on major roadways and select highways, not at interchanges or junctions. NSCC should not be utilized in inclement weather, on winding or slippery roads, in heavy or changing traffic, or if the navigation system is malfunctioning. Note that the driver is still responsible for assessing the speed limit and the distance to the vehicle ahead, directing the vehicle, and slowing or halting to avoid an accident.

Maintenance and Warranty Coverage

Hyundai’s warranty is one of the strongest in the industry, with the initial owner receiving 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain coverage. In addition, the firm now provides free regular maintenance, which outperforms popular competitors such as Toyota.

So that’s the new Hyundai Palisade. It has a rich history and renowned performance, making it one of the most sought-after automobiles in the United States. Have you considered getting yours right away? Learn more about the Hyundai Palisade for sale at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai.
