Even with it’s impressive powertrain and value-driven fuel efficiency, there’s one thing that can’t be ignored: this new car from Hyundai also provides some seriously graceful handling. If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Easter in Washington, D.C., then look no further than this list. Our team at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai has’ uncovered some details on a few of the most popular Easter activities taking place in and around Washington, D.C., so you can start planning your day and your week. While there are plenty of things going on, these are the ways you’re going to want to celebrate Easter this year.

White House Easter Egg Roll 2023

Location: South Lawn of the White House.

Cost: Free to lottery ticket winners.

Time: Two-hour time slots based on the ticket.

Date: Monday, April 10.

The White House Easter Egg Roll has been a time-honored tradition since the late 1870s. Because it’s such a popular event, those who want to attend must submit their names and other information to be selected through a lottery. Winners come from all 50 states, and some tickets are given to military service members as well as public schools to give away to children in the area. The National Park Service transforms the White House lawn into an Easter spectacle where children can dye eggs, listen to stories, participate in games, and, of course, hunt for Easter eggs.

One of the traditions and the event’s namesake is the Easter egg roll. This is where kids use a spoon to roll a hard-boiled egg across the lawn as quickly as possible, making for excitement and fun. Any child aged 13 or younger who attends will receive a commemorative wooden egg. Each year has a new theme, so keep your eye out for what it might be this year.

Great Country Farms Easter Egg Hunt

Location: 34345 Snickersville Turnpike, Bluemont, Virginia.

Cost: $7.50 per child in addition to the admissions ticket price.

Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Date: March 25 through April 8.

There’s a lot going on at Great Country Farms, so it’s worth the drive to get there. It’s the perfect spot to head outdoors with the family after being cooped up in the house all winter. Kids’ll love getting to see real live baby chicks walking around. They can also see other cute baby farm animals up close and personal. Hop on a wagon and take a relaxing ride around the farm. And you won’t want to miss the annual egg hunt.

Make sure to arrive an hour before your egg hunt time and get a pick-your-own bucket from the farm staff. Then get ready to let your child find up to 25 eggs. Once they have their limit, you can transfer their eggs into another basket for photos. Remember to return the eggs and the bucket so they can use them again next year. This reduces waste and protects the environment. They also have a fire lit right next to the egg hunt area, where the family can sit and roast marshmallows together.

Falls Church Easter Egg Hunt

Location: 312 Park Ave., Falls Church, Virginia.

Cost: Free.

Time: 10 a.m.

Date: Saturday, April 8.

Every year, more than 2,000 families come together at Cherry Hill Park in Falls Church, Virginia, to celebrate Easter and the beginning of spring at the Falls Church Easter Egg Hunt. Not only is this a free event, but you can also find free parking on many side streets around the park. Get there early, as the egg hunt starts at 10 a.m. on the dot.

This egg hunt is only for children between the ages of 1 and 11, and they’ll need to come equipped with their own baskets. Be sure to have your camera ready to snap photos of the hunt, and afterward, you can get some memorable pictures with the famous Easter Bunny. There’ll be lots of other fun things happening, so stop by and check it out.

Eggstravaganza!

Location: 1644 31st St. NW, Washington, D.C.

Cost: $18 per child (non-member price) and $8 for accompanying adults.

Time: 10 a.m. to noon.

Date: Saturday, April 8.

Happening at Tudor Place, a historic mansion and museum, the Eggstravaganza! egg hunt is a must during the spring in Washington, D.C. It gives you a chance to visit the historic Tudor Place and see what’s in bloom around the garden while your child gets in on the excitement of the egg hunt. This event welcomes children of all ages.

They’ll need their own basket to collect their eggs, and the hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. After the egg hunt, they can participate in the egg roll on the South Lawn, which happens at 10:45 a.m. If your kids want to participate in the egg roll on the South Lawn, they’ll also need a hard-boiled egg and a spoon. Don’t forget your camera so you can capture all the action and get pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Family Flashlight Egg Hunt

Location: 300 Glyndon St. NE, Vienna, Virginia.

Cost: $5, children 1 year and younger are free.

Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Date: Friday, March 31.

The Family Flashlight Egg Hunt, put on by the city of Vienna, Virginia, is a unique event that puts a twist on the traditional egg hunt. Instead of looking for eggs in broad daylight, kids use their flashlights to search them out after dark. Kids 5 years and younger can show up at 6 p.m. to start hunting before it gets too dark, while older kids won’t start the fun until 8 p.m. Before the egg hunt begins, you can hang out in Glyndon Park, the event’s location, to listen to music and play games.

From our Koons Woodbridge Hyundai family to yours, that’s our list of ways to celebrate Easter around Washington, D.C. We love our community and would like to know if you have the details on any other Easter events taking place. We know the details don’t often surface until just before the event, but we’d love to hear from you if you have any other suggestions. Our team is always looking for ways to help the community and share information about what’s happening around the city.

There are a lot of automakers these days that are releasing electric vehicles (EVs) that they have designed to compete with the Tesla Model 3. Some of them have been more successful than others. The Hyundai IONIQ 6 definitely looks like it’s going to fit nicely into this category of cars that’s on par with the Tesla Model 3 in terms of its range and capabilities. It’s one of the best-looking EVs on the market today, and it also has plenty to offer when it comes to what it can do out on the road.

The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 is a brand-new EV in the Hyundai lineup. But one of the first things you’ll notice about it is that it includes many of the same components and features found in the Hyundai IONIQ 5. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as Hyundai has enjoyed lots of success with the IONIQ 5 since introducing it to the world in 2021. But the IONIQ 6 is also strong enough to stand on its own. The team at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai has put together this guide so that you can discover more about this new EV.

Motor

If you decide to invest in a 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6, you’re going to have to make a very important decision right from the very beginning. You’ll need to decide whether you want to go with an IONIQ 6 that has one motor in it or two.

The IONIQ 6 with a single electric motor in it will produce 225 horsepower. Its motor will only provide power to this EV’s rear wheels. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 6 with two electric motors in it will produce up to 320 horsepower, and the two motors will provide power to both the front and rear wheels.

The IONIQ 6 with two electric motors will cost more than the IONIQ 6 with one motor. But it might be well worth the extra expense if you’d like to drive around in an EV that packs a little more power than the other electric options out on the road.

Battery

Regardless of whether you decide to go with one or two motors when you buy a 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6, you’ll be able to take advantage of the same battery. Every 2023 IONIQ 6 will come with a 77.4 kWh battery pack in it standard. You’ll be happy to hear that this battery will be capable of providing you with impressive range each and every time you get behind the wheel.

Range

One of the few complaints that some people have had about the IONIQ 5 models in the past is that they didn’t always offer great range compared to some other hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and EVs. As a result, people didn’t always feel like they could depend on their IONIQs to get them to their final destinations without running out of juice. But this shouldn’t be an issue at all with the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6.

The aforementioned 77.4 kWh battery pack will provide you with enough charge to travel for up to 340 miles in an IONIQ 6 with a single electric motor. It’ll also allow you to travel up to 310 miles in an IONIQ 6 with two electric motors. Both of those numbers are impressive when you compare them to the range offered by some of the EVs in the same category as the IONIQ 6.

Performance

One of the concerns some people who are considering buying EVs have is what kind of performance they can expect from them. So far, not all EVs have wowed car enthusiasts with their speed. But it’ll excite you to find out that the 2023 IONIQ 6 is going to change your opinion on what EVs are capable of in the speed department. An IONIQ 6 with two electric motors will be able to get you from zero to 60 mph in right around 5 seconds, if not even faster depending on the configuration of your car.

At the same time, the 2023 IONIQ 6 is also going to set you up with a very smooth ride and incredible handling. It’ll help you enjoy driving it around and change whatever perception you might have of EVs at this time.

Other Features

The motors, range, and performance that you’ll get from the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 will be more than enough for most people. These factors should convince you that it would be worth taking a closer look at the IONIQ 6 to figure out if it would be right for you. But you should know that the IONIQ 6 is also jam-packed with many other features you’ll come to love.

The interior of the IONIQ 6 is, like most other IONIQ models, very minimalist and spacious as a result. It’s also incredibly quiet on the inside of the IONIQ 6, and if you fold the back seats down, it’ll provide you with plenty of cargo space. As well as that, it has lots of amazing technological features in it, including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. There are also tons of standard safety features, such as automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, as well as optional ones, such as adaptive cruise control with lane centering.

Thanks to the IONIQ 6’s range, you’re going to be spending your fair share of time in this EV. It’ll be nice to know that you can make the most of it by enjoying all the excellent features it can provide.

When the very first Hyundai Sonata was released way back in the 1980s, it didn’t receive a whole lot of fanfare. Hyundai attempted to market it as a luxury car for executives to no avail. But over time, Hyundai has tinkered with the Sonata and turned it into one of the most reliable midsize cars out on the road. It’s why it routinely lands on lists featuring the best midsize cars each year.

The 2023 Hyundai Sonata doesn’t include any major changes compared to the 2022 model. But that isn’t necessarily a terrible thing, seeing as how the 2022 Sonata was jam-packed with tons of great features that helped set it apart from other midsize cars. If you’d like to get your hands on a 2023 Sonata, you’ll find that there’ll be several different trims for you to choose from. Our team at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai wants to share more about the 2023 Hyundai Sonata trims. Check out our information below:

SE

The SE is the most basic of the 2023 Hyundai Sonata trims, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t going to have plenty to offer to you if you decide to go with it. For starters, it features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that can produce up to 191 horsepower. It also has front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It can get up to 28 mpg in the city and up to 38 mpg on the highway when it comes to fuel economy.

The 2023 Hyundai Sonata SE trim might not have all the higher-end features found in the other trims. But it does come with features including 16-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, heated power outboard mirrors, and much more on the exterior.  On the inside, it also has an infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen, a stereo system with six speakers, and lots of safety features such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and even adaptive cruise control.

SEL

The SEL will only cost you a little bit more than the SE trim when you invest in a 2023 Hyundai Sonata. But it’ll come with a handful of extra features that might make it a steal for you. It has the same engine and transmission as the SE trim and gets right around the same gas mileage. However, you’ll notice some big differences between the SE and SEL on both the exterior and interior.

For starters, the SEL has 17-inch alloy wheels and a hands-free power trunk lid on the outside. It also has a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats for both the driver and passenger, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a 4.2-inch digital color driver information display. Additionally, the infotainment system has a larger 10.25-inch touch screen, and you’ll even have access to a three-year subscription to Bluelink Connected Car. Many of the same safety features found in the SE trim will also come standard in the SEL model.

SEL Plus

The SEL Plus is a big step up from the SE and SEL for those who are willing to spend a little extra on a 2023 Hyundai Sonata. The first difference you’ll notice will be the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can churn out 180 horsepower. When you’re driving around the Woodbridge area, it’ll help you get 27 mpg in the city or 37 mpg on the highway in the SEL Plus trim.

The SEL Plus also features upgrades across the board on the interior of the Sonata. Some examples of the excellent features you’ll find will include paddle shifters, microfiber seat inserts, aluminum pedals, and even a 12.3-inch digital display and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. The SEL Plus might end up offering you the most bang for your buck when buying a Sonata.

N Line

If the first three 2023 Hyundai Sonata trims don’t pack enough power underneath the hood for you, you’ll love what the N Line trim brings to the table. It has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that can produce up to 290 horsepower, as well as an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. You’ll have to sacrifice some of the fuel economy found in other Sonatas (the N Line gets 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway), but it’ll be a small price to pay for the power you’ll be getting.

The N Line also includes noticeable upgrades in many other areas. For example, it features high-performance tires, 19-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and even special front and rear fascias that separate it from the other Sonata trims in an eye-catching, head-turning way.

Limited

If you want to go all out when buying a 2023 Sonata, the Limited trim is the way to go. Although it has the same 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine found in the SEL Plus trim, it has a Sport+ mode in the Driver Mode Select system that makes it unique. It also has top-of-the-line standard features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, a surround-view camera, and so much more.

As if all that wasn’t enough, some of the technology found in the Limited trim is truly next level. From the remote smart-parking assist that can help you get your Sonata into tight parking spots to a semi-autonomous driver-assistance feature called highway-drive assist, it has everything you could ever dream of in it.

Which 2023 Hyundai Sonata Trim Is Right for You?

As you’ve seen here, each of the 2023 Hyundai Sonata trims will provide you with distinctive features. Your job is going to be to compare the trims to see which one will work best for your budget and lifestyle.

If you’d like to see each 2023 Hyundai Sonata trim in person, Koons Woodbridge Hyundai can help you get behind the wheel of them. It’ll help you get a feel for and make a final decision as far as which trim will be best for you based on your preferences.

Shopping for a new car doesn’t have to be a challenge, especially if you do the proper research before starting your buying journey. If you’re in the market for a compact hatchback that promises style, speed, and convenience with an affordable price tag, consider looking into the Hyundai Veloster. As part of Hyundai’s performance-focused N models, the 2022 Veloster offers an impressive collection of standard features that distinguish it from its competitors.

Luckily, our team here at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai of Woodbridge, VA put together this guide breaking down the key elements of the 2022 Hyundai Veloster, including its various trim levels, engine power and speed, performance abilities, design and convenience amenities and safety, and security features. With this information, you can confidently decide if the Hyundai Veloster is the right car for you.

Engine Power

The 2022 Hyundai Veloster comes in a single trim level, called the N. The Veloster N has a 2.0-liter Turbo GDI 4-cylinder engine capable of producing 275 horsepower and up to 260 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is a standard, although buyers can instead opt for an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. With the automatic transmission, drivers can experience a temporary increase in torque up to 278 pound-feet thanks to a boost function.

Speed and Performance

Impressive speed is one of the 2022 Veloster’s most distinctive features. In fact, the Veloster can speed up from 0 to 60 miles per house in just 5.2 seconds while using a manual transmission, which is significantly faster than other Hyundai models. Every Hyundai N vehicle has a drive-mode selector, with options including Eco, Normal, Sport, and an N custom mode. The car is only available with front-wheel drive (FWD), although buyers can choose their transmission type if they want to change the standard driving experience.

The 2022 Hyundai Veloster has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 28 miles on the highway and 22 miles in the city for the standard manual transmission. For those who opt for the automatic transmission, the EPA estimates a fuel economy of 27 mpg on the highway and 20 in the city.

Exterior Features

There are four paint colors buyers can choose from when customizing their 2022 Hyundai Veloster: Lunar White, Performance Blue, Racing Red, and Ultra Black. Some exterior features that come standard on the Veloster include 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, rear LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, high beam assist, and projector headlights.

The 2022 model also comes with heated outside mirrors with turn signal indicators, a black grille, a gloss black rear diffuser, front and rear mudguards, a rear spoiler with an LED Center High Mount Stop Lamp (CHMSL), tinted glass, front two-speed variable intermittent windshield wipers, and a one-speed rear wiper.

Interior Features

The interior space of the 2022 Hyundai Veloster can seat up to four people and features cloth seating surfaces with leatherette bolsters. Other interior features include N Light Sport Bucket Seats with the Illuminated N Logo, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, a sliding and reclining front passenger seat, and a front passenger seatback pocket. Also included is a 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback with adjustable head restraints, rear cup holders with a storage console, carpeted floor mats, automatic temperature control with automatic defogging, an in-cabin air filter, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Some of the standard tech and entertainment features on the 2022 Hyundai Veloster N include an eight-inch Navigation system with an Infiniti Premium Audio system with eight speakers, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone system with Voice Recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrations, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and speed-sensitive automatic volume control.

Convenience Features

If you’re looking for a vehicle that offers as much convenience as it does speed, then the Veloster may be the right option for you. Convenience amenities available on the 2022 Veloster include steering wheel-mounted controls for audio, cruise control, and Bluetooth Hands-free. It also features a 4.2-inch color instrument cluster that features distance-to-empty, average miles per gallon, average miles per house, elapsed time, and distance-to-service.

Proximity key entry with push button start makes getting in the car even easier, and remote release allows you to open your hood and fuel filler door without leaving your vehicle. If you’re planning on traveling in your Hyundai Veloster, you can take advantage of its luggage net hooks. Interior lights include front map lights, a center room light, a cargo area light, and delay-out interior lights for maximum visibility at all times.

Safety and Security

Safety is one of the most paramount elements to consider when researching new cars to purchase. It’s important that a vehicle provides ample safety and security features so you can feel comfortable traveling independently or in a group across various distances. The 2022 Hyundai Veloster N has a wide array of standard safety and security amenities, including driver assistance features like forward collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision warning, lane keep assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, and high beam assist.

Other standard safety features on the 2022 Veloster include an energy-absorbing steering column, front and rear crumple zones, and body-side reinforcements for maximum protection in the event of a collision. Security measures on the vehicle include a power-window lock-out button, a buckle sensor, and rear passenger-side child safety locks. Warning lights and chimes inform about changes in oil pressure, battery charge, fuel levels, engine function, use of the parking brake, and ajar doors.

With such an impressive collection of standard features, it’s no secret why the 2022 Hyundai Veloster continues to attract buyers in search of compact but capable high-performance vehicles. A road trip can be a great way to explore the world around you. Whether you’re gearing up for a solo long-distance trek packed with sightseeing or a quick weekend getaway to a nearby town with a loved one, it’s important to prepare before hitting the open road, especially if you drive an electric vehicle. Our team at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai created this list of road trip tips for EV owners to help you ensure you and your car are ready for your next adventure.

Learn About Charging Options

Different charging stations have their own costs and average charge times. Learning about the various chargers and networks can help you plan a trip that keeps your EV charged while letting you see the sights you want to see. There are three main types of charge levels available at public charging stations:

  • Level 1: Level 1 chargers offer 1 kW of power, which means they can take up to 48 hours to charge an EV fully. However, these chargers are also compatible with a high number of car types.
  • Level 2: Level 2 chargers are the most common type of charger you can find at public charging stations. They typically offer between 3 and 20 kW and can charge a car from empty to full within 12 hours.
  • Level 3: A Level 3 charger, also called a direct current fast charge (DCFC) unit, is the most powerful charger available at public charging stations. They can charge an EV fully within a few hours, but they may not be compatible with older EV or hybrid vehicles.

Plan To Take Your Time

While a gas-powered vehicle might be the best choice for a road trip with set deadlines, like weddings or hotel bookings, an EV is a great choice for a less structured journey. Since charging times might vary at different stations, a laid-back schedule can lower stress and ensure you still see the major sights along the way. For example, you might decide to take an EV on a trip along the California coast, stopping at major cities along the way.

For your journey, choose a few key places to visit. Research the museums or national parks you want to see on your trip to find out when they’re open. That way, you can stop by and visit as long as you want. It’s a good idea to rank the attractions so you can prioritize them. If you end up with extra time, you can visit some of your lower-ranked places.

Add Major City Stops

While several EV charging networks span the entire country, there are more charging stations in large cities than there are in rural areas. Building in a few stops in major metropolitan areas can give you the opportunity to charge your vehicle without going out of your way. Also, larger cities are more likely to have Level 3 chargers, which allow you to charge your EV faster. In smaller towns, you may only have one or two charging units, and they may take all day or night to restore your EV’s power.

Find Charging Stations in Advance and Make a Plan

When most people need to go somewhere, they use navigation systems to give them directions right as they begin driving. However, taking an EV on a road trip requires some planning. It’s essential to map out multiple routes so you can estimate your mileage and identify where charging stations are. Start by creating a Plan A for what route you hope to take, and then create a back-up plan or two to allow for potential delays or detours.

The U.S. Department of Energy has an interactive map of charging stations throughout the United States and Canada. You can filter by location, charger type, connector type, and type of alternative fuel. It’s a great resource for planning your trip or quickly rerouting to a new station.

Choose Hotels With EV Stations

A Level 2 charger can take up to 12 hours to charge an EV to its full range, but if you can find a hotel with one of these chargers, then you can power your car without losing any of your vacation time. Many large hotel chains have partnerships with companies that build and operate charging networks, which means you can usually find at least one charging unit in the parking lot of a larger hotel. Even smaller lodges and motels might have access to a charging station.

Because units can only serve one vehicle at a time, it’s a good idea to find out how busy the charging station usually is before booking your room. You might call the hotel’s front desk to get an idea of whether you’ll have to wait to use the on-site machine. The hotel staff may also know of larger public charging stations close to the hotel.

Build in a Buffer

It might be tempting to create a travel plan where you arrive at a charging station just as your mileage runs out to make the most of your previous charge. However, it’s a good idea to build in a mileage buffer in case your miles don’t stretch as far as you thought they would. While many EVs have a system that recharges the engine during traffic by translating the brake energy into power, it’s not always enough to make up for power lost from idling. Also, traffic accidents or construction might cause you to take a detour that adds miles.

To be prepared, it’s a good idea to schedule your stops within your maximum mileage range. For example, if you see that your car has 300 miles left on it before it needs a charge, consider stopping at an EV station that’s 250 to 270 miles away. That way, you can give yourself more time to find and reach the next station and account for any variations in your actual mileage remaining.

We’ve reached the end of our list of road trip tips for EV owners. We hope our team at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai shared some helpful ways to prepare your electric Hyundai for your next adventure.
