When you’ve finished a round or two of golf, stay for a few hours more and try out the fast or slow pitch batting cages, gemstone panning at Rocky Cove Mining Company, a game or two of basketball, or a much-needed lunch break at one of their many picnic tables. A game of mini-golf is $9 per adult, $8 for children ages 3 through 12, and free for children under two years old.

Upton Hill Regional Park

Upton Hill Regional Park is in Arlington, Virginia, approximately 25 miles from Woodbridge. This park has one of the most curiously designed golf layouts in northern Virginia. Surrounded by trees, water fountains, and bridges, this challenging mini-golf course will keep you entertained and amused throughout the entire game.

Upton Hill is an excellent locale for hosting a birthday party or celebrating other special events. Their birthday party package includes unlimited mini-golfing and batting cage fun for two hours for a maximum of 25 people. You can even bring your own food, drinks, and decorations, using one of their shaded Funbrellas as your birthday party central.

In addition to Upton Hill’s beautifully landscaped and well-designed miniature golf course, there are many entertaining and recreational activities for all ages. Visit one of their softball or baseball cages that include slow, medium, and fastpitch speeds. The kids will thoroughly enjoy Climb Upton, a 90 element vertical climbing course. Explore the wooded area around the sports complex while hiking one of their beautiful nature trails. Hyundai is known for making affordable SUVs and sedans that are both practical and enjoyable to drive, and the 2022 Hyundai Palisade is no different. Perfect for those who desire a comfortable, spacious, and powerful multipurpose SUV, there’s little that the newest Hyundai Palisade doesn’t have, making it among the best in its class. Before you buy your Hyundai Palisade, you might be curious about the SUV’s trims, including its specs and features. At Koons Woodbridge Hyundai, we’ve put together a guide to help you uncover the trim that best suits your unique needs.

The SE Trim Level

The base SE trim level of the Hyundai Palisade delivers impressive value with plenty of standard technology, a roomy third row, and a V-6 engine that produces 291 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Included are 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with automatic high beams to make driving at night easier, LED daytime running lights, and heated outboard mirrors with turn signal indicators to help keep visibility clear in rainy or snowy conditions.

The SE also includes plenty of infotainment to keep passengers entertained, boasting an 8-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker audio system, an HD radio, and a whopping seven USB ports. Also included are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which operate the most important functions of your smartphone, ensuring you can drive safer and still stay connected to the outside world.

The safety features are where the Palisade really shines, with the SE trim including rear parking sensors to make parking easier, automated emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-follow assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, safe exit assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go included. The steering wheel contains haptic technology, which provides a tactile alert to the driver and is combined with the lane-keep assist and other alerts.

If you choose to go with the all-wheel-drive option, you can add downhill brake assist and a snow mode that’s especially useful when it comes to navigating the occasional snowy conditions in Virginia. Hill-start assist is another particularly useful feature. It automatically activates when your Palisade is on a hill, functioning to prevent you from rolling back before you accelerate.

Besides the safety features, the SE trim offers extra storage space under the floor, a power liftgate, power windows, illuminated vanity mirrors, map lights, a cargo light, and a handful of other useful interior features. With room for a total of eight passengers, the SE trim has much to offer.

The SEL Trim Level

The next level of trim is the SEL trim, seating seven passengers with the option to seat eight. The third row is spacious enough for the average adult passenger and comes in a few excellent option packages. Building on the SE trim, the SEL adds and replaces a number of features to improve both driving quality and overall accessibility. An eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat adds to the interior, improving the driver’s comfort level and providing plenty of lumbar support. Heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and second-row climate controls also help improve the Palisade’s comfortability.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel can help to improve your grip, and the proximity key allows for an easy remote start. Also included is an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, which helps to improve driver safety by automatically dimming distracting light from other vehicles. LED interior lights help to improve visibility in interior spaces and can help you conserve energy inside your Palisade. A sunroof is another popular feature added in the SEL, providing an extra window and plenty of fresh air. The added roof rails help to give your Palisade a sleeker, more aerodynamic look and feel.

The SEL’s Convenience Package includes 20-inch alloy wheels, self-leveling rear suspension, front parking sensors, a smart liftgate, wireless device charging, and LED taillights to provide extra visibility. The Premium Package provides comfortable leather seating, heated second-row seats, a navigation system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and a power folding-reclining third-row seat for extra cargo space. With the Trailering Package, you can more easily haul boats, trailers, and heavy off-road equipment.

The Limited Trim Level

The Limited trim provides all of the standard features of the SEL in addition to what’s included in the Convenience and Premium packages. It also adds rain-sensing wipers designed to improve driver visibility amid heavy rainfall. With ventilated front seats and heated and ventilated second-row seats, both passengers and drivers can feel comfortable and conserve energy by lessening the need to turn on the heater. Nappa leather seating adds to the luxury feel and stylish interior, and a full-color head-up display helps project key information, like speed, driver warnings, and navigation commands right onto the windshield.

A 360-degree surround-view monitor, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound audio system, ambient lighting in 64 colors, and driver’s seat power thigh support also add to the practicality and comfortability. Seating seven total passengers and coming in with standard 20-inch wheels, the Limited is well-equipped with an abundance of great features.

The Calligraphy Trim Level

The Calligraphy trim seats seven and builds on the already-packed Limited and includes all-wheel drive, upgraded 20-inch alloy wheels, puddle lamps designed to illuminate the ground underneath the Palisade’s front door, a special grille, exclusive front and rear fascias, quilted leather door panels for an even more luxurious look, and a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel. Premium tail lamp accent lighting provides additional safety by improving visibility in addition to adding to the Calligraphy’s stylish appearance.

A microfiber suede headliner and a unique wheel design also add to the look, distinguishing the Calligraphy from other trims. Like the Limited, the Calligraphy comes standard with an array of features designed to keep you comfortable, including a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, climate control, and a sunroof with sunshades.

If you’re in the market for a midsize SUV, the Genesis GV80 and Hyundai Palisade are two options that should be near the top of your list. But how do these crossovers stack up against each other? There are several great features available with both vehicles, meaning that the final choice will depend mainly on your own preference. Here’s a rundown of some of the key similarities and differences between the Palisade and GV80.

Engine and Specs

The Genesis GV80 is powered in its base setup by a turbocharged V-4 engine that puts out 300 horsepower. If you’d like a little more punch when you hit the accelerator, you can upgrade to a turbocharged V-6 that churns out 375 horsepower. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can also choose between rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

The Palisade features a V-6 engine that manages 291 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You have the choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive with this midsize SUV. Front-wheel-drive models get up to 26 mpg at highway speeds, while choosing all-wheel drive cuts that back slightly to 24 mpg. Gas mileage for the GV80 is about the same, with 25 mpg in rear-wheel drive and 23 mpg with all-wheel drive.

Seating and Cargo Storage

The Palisade stands out with its impressive passenger-carrying capacity. You can travel with up to eight people in this mid-sized SUV, or seven if you opt for a touch more luxury by choosing second-row captain’s chairs. You’ll find adult-friendly seating in all three rows, and equipment for installing child seats on the outermost second-row seats and the driver-side seat in the third row.

The GV80 has a more compact cabin in its standard setup. There’s room for five passengers across two rows. If you can afford to upgrade to the Advance+ model, which has a starting price of just over $65,000, you can get a third row of seats that boosts capacity to seven passengers. The third row is ideal for child passengers.

In its base trim, the GV80 features synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, and power-adjustable settings for front-seat passengers. The Palisade is equipped with cloth upholstery, with leather seats available in the higher trims.

The Palisade also offers a range of cargo storage options. With a full load of passengers, you’ll have about 18 cubic feet behind the third row. If you need to carry larger items, you can open up a maximum of 86 cubic feet of capacity by folding down the rear two rows. In the GV80, the cargo storage area is larger in the two-row setup than in three-row models.

Infotainment and Technology

The standard infotainment setup in the GV80 is led by a 14.5-inch display and 12-speaker audio system. Buyers also get smartphone compatibility thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. A further standard feature in the Genesis is a navigation system.

The Palisade gets an 8-inch screen for its infotainment system. Five USB ports, smartphone compatibility, and Bluetooth also come standard. If you’d like some more tech features, you can upgrade to a 12-speaker stereo and wireless device charging so you can keep your phone fully charged while you’re on the go.

Both the Palisade and GV80 boast a long list of standard driver assistance features to help keep you and your passengers safe on the road. These include things like forward automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, which can help you avoid collisions by identifying risks and bringing your vehicle to a stop. You also get parking sensors to help you maneuver your crossover into a tight space around town.

Driver safety features to support you on the highway are also standard. Adaptive cruise control can adjust your speed so that you maintain a safe distance from other motorists up ahead. Lane departure warning and lane keep assist help you stick to the appropriate lane and give you an alert if you’re in danger of switching. The driver drowsiness monitor keeps a check on your reaction times and performance, and warns you when it’s time to take a break due to tiredness.

Trims and Pricing

The Palisade has a more affordable starting price of just over $33,000 compared to the GV80’s base price of $48,900. There are three trims available with the GV80: base, Advanced, and Prestige. Four trims are offered for the Palisade: SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy.

The palisade SEL adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat and heated front seats for your comfort. Several packages are offered in the SEL that allow you to upgrade to the larger infotainment screen and a navigation system. Even more luxury is offered in the Limited trim, which boasts ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, and heated second-row chairs. The range-topping Calligraphy shares a lot with the Limited, but adds some unique styling features and premium materials.

The Advanced trim in the GV80 gives you the option to add the third row of seats. You also get ventilated front seats and a rear-seat reminder, which alerts you to check the rear of your vehicle before you get out for passengers or pets. The Prestige trim gets genuine leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and a surround-view parking camera.

If you’re looking for a compact SUV with excellent fuel economy, the 2022 Hyundai Venue should be at the top of your search list. The Venue is perfect for city driving, provides ample space for five passengers, and has a range of trims for you to choose from. Here is a rundown of what’s on offer in each configuration.

2022 Venue Trims

The 2022 Venue falls into the subcompact SUV class and is offered in three trims: SE, SEL, and Limited. With a starting retail price of just over $18,000, Hyundai’s smallest SUV is great value for money.

Whichever trim you choose, the Venue is powered by a 1.6-liter V-4 engine. This unit puts out 121 horsepower, and returns impressive gas mileage of 29 mpg on city roads and 33 mpg on the highway. The engine is paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the only option throughout the Venue’s lineup.

The Venue debuted for the 2020 model year, and it has several styling features that give it a unique look. There’s it’s prominent front grill, which combines with cube-shaped headlights to create a functional appearance.

Inside the compact cabin, the Venue’s front seats offer plenty of legroom and headroom for a comfortable ride in the front row. The rear row provides ample room for two adults or three kids. There are two complete sets of LATCH connectors on the outermost seats and a tether anchor in the middle seat for installing kids’ seating.

Behind the rear row, you’ll find 18.7 cubic feet of cargo storage. Fold down the second row of seats and you’ll open up 31.9 cubic feet of space in case you’re carrying bulkier items.

The Venue is not rated for towing any size of trailer. If you require a vehicle that can tow loads, you may want to check out Hyundai’s larger SUVs. For example, the Hyundai Tucson is a compact SUV that has a larger cargo-carrying area than the Venue. The Tucson has a maximum towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds when it’s fully equipped.

Hyundai Venue SE

The base SE trim is fitted with cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats. It also features an 8-inch infotainment screen and four-speaker stereo for playing your favorite music or podcasts.

Despite its low starting price, the Venue has a broad range of infotainment technology. This includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which allow you to connect your smartphone to your SUV’s entertainment system. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth and a USB port.

Another great strength of the Venue is its wide array of standard driver safety features. Drivers benefit from forward-collision warning and pedestrian detection, which will alert you when obstacles are detected up ahead that threaten to trigger an accident. As a backup, the automatic emergency braking system can bring your SUV to a swift stop.

The lane keep assist and driver attention alert systems are especially helpful during highway driving and long trips. The driver attention system monitors the Venue’s position in lanes and other driving habits to warn you when it’s time to take a break to guard against drowsiness.

Hyundai Venue SEL

The SEL adds some luxury upgrades to the cabin. The driver gains a leather-wrapped steering wheel, while both front-seat passengers can take advantage of a central console unit with a sliding arm wrest. Wherever you’re sitting in the Venue, you can enjoy a more comfortable ride thanks to the dual-zone automatic climate control.

On the entertainment front, the Venue SEL features an improved six-speaker stereo and another USB port for better connectivity. Driver safety is strengthened with the addition of blind spot monitoring.

Don’t forget to check out several upgrades that give this mid-range Venue a more stylish flair. These include a sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels, which replace the 15-inch wheels in the base trim.

The SEL adds several driving modes that allow you to adjust the Venue’s performance. These are normal, sport, and snow. The sport setting makes this subcompact SUV a little more fun to drive by adding some more zip to the Venue’s handling. The snow setting includes improved traction to help you stay in control on slippery surfaces.

Venue Limited

Fans of a luxury interior should turn to the range-topping Venue Limited, which was called the Denim in previous model years. The Limited gains heated front seats and synthetic leather accents on the Venue’s upholstery. It also features several tech additions for your entertainment and convenience, including satellite radio and a navigation system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are offered in this trim, but only with a traditional wire connection.

Venue Limited owners get proximity keyless entry, which comes in useful if you’re trying to get into your vehicle with your hands full. They also benefit from a stylish exterior look provided by a two-tone body and a white roof.

Another cool feature that’s only available in the limited trim is Hyundai’s exclusive Blue Link Car Connectivity system. Blue Link enables you to use your phone to control certain features, like locking or unlocking your car. You can also start your Venue remotely. This can come in handy if you want to adjust the cabin’s temperature to a comfortable level before you get in on a particularly hot or cold day.

Finding an SUV that’s suited for all of your adventures — whether they are on long highways or in the heart of the city — turns into a much easier job once you experience the 2022 Hyundai Tucson’s cabin. Between its comfort-boosting features and technological advancements, it’s difficult to beat the Tucson experience. Let’s dive into all the things that make the new Tucson’s interior one of the best ones on the road.

What Is the Hyundai Tucson?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is a compact SUV that seats up to five passengers. The Tucson is produced in a range of four primary trim levels: the SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited. As you progress through these trim levels, the Tucson’s list of features and luxuriousness grows. This allows you to choose the features you’re most excited about for a price that works better for your budget.

The Tucson offers up to 108.2 cubic feet of passenger volume for you to relax in. With the rear seatbacks in their upright position, the Tucson offers up to 41.2 cubic feet of cargo volume. With the seats folded forward, you’ll get up to 80.3 cubic feet of cargo space. Be sure to opt for the available hands-free smart liftgate to make accessing that cargo space easier than it’s ever been.

The rear-row seats are split 60/40 to allow you to configure your cabin to better take on today’s trips. With the seats upright, the back row offers best-in-class legroom to let your guests stretch out and relax.

Though the Tucson is technically a compact SUV, this ample amount of cabin space may make you forget that designation fast. The Tucson utilizes some intelligent cabin design elements to maximize available space and its ability to keep you comfortable.

Coziness

Hyundai prides itself on being able to keep you and your passengers more comfortable during your daily drives through intelligent design and cozy amenities. You can outfit your Tucson with the available panoramic sunroof that comes standard on the Limited to let more natural light and skyline views into your cabin, as well as fresh air when the weather outside is nice. Upgrade to the Limited to enjoy leather-trimmed upholstery for a more luxurious cabin experience. The SEL and SE feature durable stain-resistant cloth seats.

At the SE level, you’ll get a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. This turns into an eight-way adjustable seat at the SEL level and higher. The SEL also adds power driver’s lumbar support. Select the Limited to equip your cabin with an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat for the most comfortable space the Tucson has to offer.

Technology

However, regardless of which trim level you choose, you’ll enjoy the sleek, streamlined design of the Tucson’s dashboard. This dashboard can be upgraded with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that replaces the traditional driver gauges. Hyundai removed the hood over this extra screen to give the Tucson a remarkably modern and minimalist appearance.

The Tucson’s center stack has received the same treatment. Upgrade the standard 8-inch central touch screen to the available 10.25-inch version with built-in navigation. You can use the Tucson’s standard screen to integrate your smartphone into your SUV through wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The larger screen utilizes wired versions of these programs. You can charge your smartphone via the standard USB charging port or the available wireless Qi-compatible device charger. The N Line and Limited trim levels feature the available Bose premium audio system to improve your listening experience.

If you choose the N LIne, you’ll get an ambient interior lighting system that illuminates the center console, footwells, and front door pockets. If you upgrade to the Limited, this feature becomes a customizable 64-color lighting system that you can change to better fit your mood for tonight’s drive.

Weather-Ready

When you choose the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, you’ll get access to plenty of features that make your rides more comfortable, regardless of what the weather looks like outside. These features begin to show up the higher up through the Tucson’s trim levels you go, so be sure to find a model equipped with the features you want the most. Let’s look at what you’ll get with each trim level.

Stay ready to take on any weather with the SEL trim level’s heated front-row seats. The SEL also adds rear air vents to increase comfort to more of the cabin. Choose the Limited to equip your cabin with heated rear seats and ventilated front seats. All 2022 Tucsons come standard with a rear window defroster to keep your vision clear.

Make your way up to the Limited trim level to use the new Multi-Air Mode technology to create the perfect climate for your SUV. This climate control system gently diffuses air through vents and unnoticeable openings across the Tucson’s dashboard to create soft, regulated airflow for maximum comfort.

N Line Style

If you want to give your Hyundai Tucson’s cabin a boost in sporty style, be sure to opt for an N Line. The Tucson N Line features sport combination seats with unique badging. You’ll find striking red accents and stitching in the N Line’s interior, on the dashboard, shifter knob, seats, and elsewhere. The N Line’s seats have leather bolsters that both look and feel great.

Woodbridge is a picturesque town in Prince William county, Virginia. It’s easily accessible along Interstate 95, yet offers many destinations that feel entirely remote. If you’re looking for outdoor activities and entertainment in the Woodbridge area, you’ll find no shortage of options. This part of Northern Virginia houses several parks, ranging from expansive wildlife refuges and educational state parks to quaint playgrounds where you can picnic and enjoy an outdoor concert.

If you’re looking for memorable parks to explore around Woodbridge, we can point you in the right direction. Check out these destinations for your outdoor adventures. Whether you’re interested in kayaking, hiking, or hitting the batting cage, we have something on our list that you’ll love.

Leesylvania State Park

Situated along the Potomac River, Leesylvania State Park is an ideal destination for water activities, such as fishing and boating. Canoe and kayak rentals are available on site. This park also features over 20 fitness stations, hiking trails, and a playground, so you’ll have plenty of ways to fill a day here. Leesylvania State Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks and is one of the areas that Captain John Smith visited in 1608. The visitor’s center features exhibits that further explore the area’s history and natural wildlife.

Neabsco Regional Park

Neabsco Regional Park spans 300 acres and includes a number of notable highlights. The Neabsco Creek Boardwalk makes it possible to walk through the park’s marshes, which are home to mallards, blue herons, red-winged blackbirds, and more. The 800-mile Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail passes through the park, offering ample walking and hiking opportunities.

Rippon Lodge is a beautiful historic feature of Neabsco Regional Park. Constructed in 1747, this is one of the oldest homes in the county. It’s open for tours, available for rentals, and regularly hosts special events on its 40 sprawling acres.

River Mill Park

River Mill Park is just a postage stamp of a park, covering only one acre along the waterfront. However, this is a popular spot for outdoor concerts, local festivals, and special events. The park features a paved walking trail, event pavilion, and public restrooms. Of particular note is the large “LOVE” sculpture, which is a popular spot for photo ops. You can prove that “Virginia is for lovers” and snap a great picture here during your visit.

Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge

Covering 642 acres, the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge provides a home to numerous species of birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. Among the refuge’s inhabitants are bald eagles, ospreys, North American river otters, painted turtles, spotted salamanders, turkeys, red foxes, and white-tailed deer, along with many others. The rich landscape includes grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands, so there’s plenty to explore.

The wildlife refuge features four miles of gravel roads for foot traffic and a two-mile loop for auto tours. Wildlife photography is popular throughout the park. Along Marumsco Creek, you can even find a photo blind to help you catch a great picture. At the intersection of Deephole Point and Fox roads, there’s an observation platform that serves a similar purpose. Interpretive kiosks throughout the refuge provide additional information on the unique inhabitants of this area. Environmental education activities regularly take place in the park as well at the two outdoor pavilions, floating marshland boardwalk, or pond.

Hammill Mill Park

Hammill Mill Park is a small destination, but it’s not short on amenities. It’s particularly popular for its outdoor pool in the summer months. The park also features a mid-sized playground on wood chips, an outdoor basketball court, and horseshoe pits. If you’d like to have a picnic lunch in the park, you’ll find tables and grills readily available for you.

Occoquan Regional Park

You’ll find no shortage of fun activities to enjoy at Occoquan Regional Park. The park offers boat and kayak rentals for boating and fishing along the Occoquan River. Visitors may bring their own boats as well for a small launch fee. Jon boats, powerboats, and other watercraft are permitted on the river. Anglers will find largemouth bass, flathead catfish, channel catfish, crappie, and yellow perch in the water. If you’re interested in really covering some distance, try the 40-mile Occoquan Water Trail that takes you past 10,000 acres of public lands.

If you prefer to explore on foot, the park offers several hiking trails, many of which are paved. Is fitness your primary pursuit? The Occoquan Brickyard 5k course is a paved pedestrian track that’s perfect for everything from regular workouts to hosting special events and fundraisers. Occoquan Regional Park even features its own batting cage with pitching machines that handle both softballs and baseballs at a variety of speeds.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can stop at the Brickmakers Cafe for waterfront dining along the river. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor dining. It offers salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, and even seafood options like crab cakes or popcorn shrimp.

Mason Neck State Park

Mason Neck State Park features a diverse landscape with forests, open fields, wetlands, and ponds. This is an ideal spot for birdwatching, with American bald eagles in residence. Kane’s Creek and Belmont Bay both offer outstanding opportunities for canoeing and kayaking. Three miles of paved trails provide an easy way to walk or jog through the park and take in the sights.

Families will love Mason Neck State Park for its playground, visitor’s center, and spacious picnic area. The park regularly hosts educational programs that explore some of the local wildlife, such as turtles, frogs, toads, swans, and eagles. Check the calendar before your visit to see what’s going on so you can take advantage of all the fun.

Electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly popular each year. If you’ve never owned one of these vehicles, you may be wondering what the difference is between the two. Below, we’ll outline some of the key differences between these two types of vehicles, including their pros and cons. We’ll then highlight some great Hyundai vehicles to explore if you’re interested in getting either an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle.

What Is an Electric Vehicle (EV)?

An EV is a vehicle that’s entirely powered by electric power. This differs from standard vehicles, which operate via gasoline. Inside electric vehicles, there are large batteries that power the vehicle. These batteries are typically lithium-ion batteries, although some vehicles may use nickel-metal hydride batteries or lead-acid batteries.

In addition to the electric battery, there is also an electric motor within EVs. The electric motor receives its energy from the battery. Owners plug the vehicles into an external charging station to keep the battery charged. The distance that a vehicle can travel on a single charge depends on the vehicle, but the average is typically around 180 miles.

What Is a Hybrid Vehicle?

As the name suggests, a hybrid vehicle combines both electric power and gasoline power. You’ll find both an internal combustion engine and an electric engine within hybrid vehicles. You’ll also find a large battery, as you would in an electric vehicle, and a standard 12V battery, as you would in any other gasoline-powered vehicle. The large battery powers the electric motor, while the smaller battery powers things like the lights, radio, etc.

There are two different types of hybrid vehicles regarding how they operate. The first type is known as a parallel system. This is when the combustion engine and the electric engine run simultaneously to power the vehicle. An example of a vehicle that uses a fully parallel hybrid drive system is the Hyundai IONIQ. The other option is a series system, in which the vehicle alternates between the electric motor and combustion engine.

Pros and Cons of Electric Vehicles

The biggest benefit of fully electric vehicles is that you never have to worry about getting gas. You no longer have to spend money at the gas station, which can save you a considerable amount, especially when gas prices rise. However, you will need an external power source to operate your electric vehicle. This factor typically makes them a more popular option for homeowners who can install a power source within their garage or driveway. You can also find these power stations out in public, but they are not as numerous as gas stations yet.

Pros and Cons of Hybrid Vehicles

With hybrid vehicles, you’re getting the best of both worlds. You still need to get gas in a hybrid, but not nearly as often. Vehicles go a lot further on a single tank of gas because, much of the time, the vehicle is powered by an electric battery.

When purchasing a hybrid vehicle, you’ll also want to see if it’s a plug-in hybrid or not. You charge the battery with an external source with a plug-in hybrid, much like EVs. For other types of hybrids, the battery charges via the gas motor.

There are two drawbacks you may encounter when shopping for hybrid vehicles. The first is the price. Due to the extra equipment onboard, hybrid vehicles tend to be more expensive than their peers. In addition to this, some hybrid vehicles do not have the same power output compared to gas-powered vehicles. Therefore, if you’re looking for something with a lot of power, you may not want a hybrid vehicle.

Hyundai Electric and Hybrid Vehicles to Explore

If you’re interested in getting either an electric or hybrid vehicle, then Hyundai has some excellent options to consider. For starters, there is the 2022 Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid. This SUV delivers up to 38 mpg on the highway, a combined 226 horsepower, and comes with HTRAC all-wheel drive.

Another hybrid option is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. This SUV offers a great combination of rugged capabilities and interior comfort. You’ll get up to 36 mpg on the highway with this hybrid, along with 226 horsepower and AWD, similar to the Tucson.

If you would prefer a sedan over an SUV, there are a few Hyundai options as well. For one, there’s the 2022 IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid, which delivers up to a combined 52 mpg. Driving on just electricity, you can make it up to 29 miles, making trips to the gas station less frequent. In addition, as this is a new model, you can receive a significant tax credit to make the IONIQ more affordable.

Finally, if you want an all-electric vehicle rather than a hybrid, there are a few Hyundai options to choose from. You will want to explore the 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric if you want an all-electric SUV and the 2021 IONIQ Electric for an all-electric SUV. As with the IONIQ Hybrid, both of these models currently come with a tax credit, making them easier to afford.

It’s a big decision when you’re trying to decide between a hybrid vehicle and an EV. If you need some assistance, Koons Woodbridge Hyundai is here to help. Not only can we further explain the difference between these two types of vehicles, including their benefits and drawbacks, but we can help you find a Hyundai vehicle that fits your needs. There’s nothing like a quality local farmers’ market. A weekend farmers market in Washington brings to mind delicious, healthy, and vibrant food, fun neighborhood vibes, handmade goods, and fresh air. Visiting different markets is also a great way to try new seasonal products and see another part of town. In addition, Washington is often ranked as one of the fittest cities in the nation. People love healthy food and active lifestyles here, and it shows.

Do you love a farmers’ market as much as we do? We’ve put together our list of the metro area’s best markets, so grab your reusable shopping bags and get ready to shop for fresh local produce. While many of these markets are within walking distance to metro stations, some are worth driving to. Be sure you’re set up in a fresh set of wheels by visiting Koons Woodbridge Hyundai. They offer a wide variety of new and used vehicles so that you can fill your new Hyundai with all your farmers’ market treasures.

Dupont Circle Farmers Market

The Dupont Circle Farmers Market is one of many FRESHFARM operated markets in the metro area. They aim to increase food access, support food education, and build healthier communities. Dupont is a vibrant neighborhood with great energy and history. A visit to this market includes dozens (50 at its peak) of farmers selling anything from eggs to artisan cheeses to baked goods. You can also sample locally-made spirits, kimchi, jams, and more. You might also catch live music playing at the far end of the market. The market is open on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. year-round.

Eastern Market

This is one of Washington’s longest-lasting and most accessible farmers’ markets. The Eastern Market has been in continuous operation since 1873, in its original historic public market building, so there’s plenty to look at besides the fantastic stalls. Since portions of the market are brick and mortar, the indoor vendors can operate for extended hours during the week, while outdoor vendors are open on Saturday and Sunday (hours vary, check website for details). In addition to the traditional market fare, you can find plenty of ready-made meals, such as crepes, burgers, or even shrimp and grits.

14&U Farmers Market

Jump on the metro and head to U Station to visit this quintessential urban farmers market. The 14&U market is open on Saturdays from May to November from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. They pride themselves on being a producer-only, community farmers market. So fill your basket with tons of handmade products, fresh fruit and vegetables, pickles and kimchi, flowers and plants, bread, baked goods, and much more.

Columbia Heights Farmers Market

The Columbia Heights Farmers Market (formerly the Columbia Heights Community Marketplace) is hosted in a vibrant and diverse neighborhood with many vendors. You can enjoy authentic Mexican food, Austrian specialties, healthy produce, and more. This market runs on Saturdays from April to December from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from January to March from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They have also begun operating on Wednesday afternoons, so it’s a great after-work destination to split up your week. Check out the website for more information.

Foggy Bottom Farmers Market

Another FRESHFARM-operated market, the Foggy Bottom Farmers Market, is open seasonally from April to November. Their location is conveniently right next to the Foggy Bottom metro access, which makes this a highly convenient Wednesday afternoon market (open from 3 to 7 p.m.). Grab a slice from Timber Pizza Company while you wander around the other merchants. Offerings include crab cakes, pickles, pastries, bubble tea, paella, and fresh produce. This is an excellent option for an after-work snack, or you could visit the market before heading to dinner in Georgetown.

Arlington Farmers Market

Sometimes you have to get just outside of Washington to try new things. Why not jump in your car and head over to the Arlington Courthouse parking lot on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the decades-old Arlington Farmers Market (from January to March, there’s a later start at 9 a.m.). As one of the largest markets in the region, you’ll find some unusual suppliers. Farmstead goat cheese, Lebanese food, pasture-raised bison, Alaskan salmon, and Greek olives are just some of the unique offerings for sale at this Virginia location.

Old Town Farmers Market

Another market based on the outskirts of town is the Old Town Farmers Market in Alexandria, Va. This market is the oldest market to run at one site continuously, and it has one serious claim to fame: George Washington would send his produce from Mount Vernon to be sold here. So while you can’t get the first president’s produce anymore, you can visit one of over 70 vendors selling their fare. They’re open every Saturday, no matter the weather, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Enjoy Washington’s Many Farmers Markets

There are so many great farmers’ markets around Washington that you could go to different ones each weekend for months without revisiting any. As you can see from our list, some of these farmers’ markets offer indoor shopping options, which may be more attractive through the winter months. Many metro-area markets operate year-round, even in the cold, so that you can bag some delicious local produce any time of year. We recommend bundling up with your friends and family and visiting as many farmers’ markets as you can.

It’s always great to shop and support local, which doesn’t just apply to produce. If you’re considering trading in your old car and upgrading to a new Hyundai, be sure to visit Koons Woodbridge Hyundai. They are proud members of their local community and are committed to getting you into a car you’ll love. You’ll be driving to one of these farmers’ markets in your new car in no time. Did we miss your favorite Washington area market? Let us know.
