Customers looking for an eight-seat SUV can choose between two popular models from Kia and Hyundai. Both the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade have features that can appeal to families looking for a spacious vehicle that can carry their family to and from sports practice and still hold all their camping gear when they go on vacation. However, researching the differences between the two vehicles can help you pick the right one for your family.

Exterior

The Hyundai Palisade enjoys an imposing exterior presence with its large hood and imposing silver grille. Sleek sculpting and tinted windows preserve a sporty aesthetic despite the SUV’s size, making it seem at home both on a city street and in the parking lot of a national park. The Palisade measures 196.1 inches in length and 77.8 in width. It has a height of 68.9 inches, not including the wheels, or around 6 feet.

The Palisade has LED accents on its exterior to complement its LED running lights and side mirror LED lights for turn signals, contributing to the vehicle’s extensive safety features. Higher trims also offer luxury features like 20-inch alloy wheels, a dual-panel sunroof and roof rails where you can tie kayaks, additional storage and bike racks to support your outdoor hobbies.

The Kia Telluride shares the Palisade’s imposing presence, with more chrome detailing, but forgoes the sporty aesthetic for a square frame. It also doesn’t have the Palisade’s crossover appeal by being slightly bigger by an inch or two in width and length, and it trades the Palisades’ sleek black detailing on the standard trim for chrome.

The standard trim also has daytime running lights, but it doesn’t come with LED turning lights on the mirrors. Higher trims offer more LED options for headlights like front fog and position lights. The basic trim for the Telluride has five exterior colors to the Palisade’s six basic colors.

Interior

The interior of the Palisade is luxurious and spacious, especially considering it’s made for eight passengers, who may feel quite cramped in a different model and make. Three rows provide plenty of space for passengers and cargo, depending on your needs, and some trims offer USB outlets in all rows, while the outlets for the driver and front passenger are standard on every trim.

The second and third-row seats fold down to create more space for transporting large objects or extensive luggage and cargo for a passenger vehicle. Even without any seats folded down, you can still get 18 cubic feet of storage behind the third row, with additional storage under the floor of the passenger seats.

The Palisade also offers an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system that offers connectivity for Bluetooth as a standard feature on basic trims. You can choose to upgrade to an impressive 10.25-inch display with sharp resolution on higher trims. The physical knobs make it easier for drivers to operate safely.

The Kia Telluride’s large frame provides ample space within the cabin. It also offers wireless Bluetooth connectivity and six total USB charging ports for your devices. It also offers a 10.25-inch display on its infotainment system.

Powertrain

The Palisade has a standard 6-cylinder 3.8-liter engine. It delivers 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with its eight-speed, automatic transmission, the engine provides a smooth and powerful ride that is more than adequate for the popular uses of an SUV of this size. It can tow up to 5,000 pounds and comes standard with a hitch on the back of the SUV that you can use to attach a trailer.

The Palisade can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 6.9 seconds, which is quicker than the Telluride’s acceleration, which reaches 60 mph in 7.1 seconds. Considering how quickly the Palisade can accelerate, it is still easy to handle, has responsive steering, and has a smooth feeling ride. The mechanical aspects of the SUV create a luxurious ride that improves the driving and passenger experience, regardless of the purpose of your journey.

The Telluride has a V-6 engine, with 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It also has an eight-speed automotive transmission with front-wheel drive. You can choose the optional upgrade to get four-wheel drive, which may make more sense with the bulk of the vehicle. The powerful engine doesn’t seem to improve the performance of the Telluride over the sleeker Palisade, and it doesn’t lend itself to the responsiveness of the throttle.

The Telluride does have 8 inches of ground clearance, making it more appropriate for off-road excursions, and it can tow up to 5,000 pounds. These additional features to the mechanical aspects of the Telluride mean it’s built more for rustic and off-road adventures than crossover appeal.

Fuel Economy

The fuel economy of the Palisade may not be one of the most important features to an SUV customer, but gas prices can always impact your satisfaction with your purchase. The Palisade can get 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway with its standard front-wheel drive. If you upgrade to all-wheel drive, you may end up with 24 miles per gallon on the highway but keep your mileage in the city.

Comparatively, the Telluride gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. Getting four-wheel drive drops the mileage to 19 in the city and 24 on the highway.

The Palisade and the Telluride are both impressive vehicles with a host of features that can satisfy a customer looking for luxury and space. The versatility of the Palisade may make it an SUV that can appeal to a wider range of customers with an even wider range of tasks. If you are interested in experiencing the luxury of a Palisade for yourself, you can stop by and see us at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai to take one for a test drive. In 2022, Hyundai redesigned its popular Tucson model with new bells and whistles for the new year. The Tucson is Hyundai’s take on the crossover SUV, known for its spacious interior and fine handling. It’s at the top of its class and a favorite among Hyundai enthusiasts. In 2023, the new model may keep what works from previous models while continuing to improve the technology and driving experience for Hyundai customers. Here is what we know so far about the next version of the Tucson.

Interior

Hyundai redesigned the 2022 Tucson to upgrade the interior materials and create a more spacious cabin, making the crossover look and feel like a luxury vehicle without the outlandish price tag. These upgrades were welcome and well-received, improving the driver and passenger experience inside the SUV. It included plenty of cargo space, which is perfect for crossover customers, who may want to keep their hiking and climbing gear in the car without climbing over it for their daily work commute.

The 2022 model also included an upgraded infotainment center. Placed on the dashboard, in between the driver and passenger seat, standard models included an 8-inch touch screen, with the option to upgrade to a 10.5 inch higher trims. While some may find the touch screen distracting to drivers, the advanced technology and ease of interface were selling points for many customers.

The 2022 changes were, for the most part, successful, so Hyundai will likely stick with the majority of its redesign choices for the 2023 model. The Tucson may keep the standard stain-resistant five seating arrangement within the cabin, with the option to upgrade to leather detailing. Details like the USB ports at the front of the car and the dual-level cargo floor should remain to preserve the styling success of the 2022 model.

The rearview camera is already standard on all 2022 Tucson trims, so expect similar driver assistance perks on any new models going forward. However, as technology continues to improve, the 2023 model may include an updated interface with more options and connectivity for mobile and radio devices. Lastly, the 2022 Tucson offered two interior choices; black and gey. While these options are standard, it’s possible that 2023 may offer additional interior options.

Powertrain

Like with the interior, the powertrain on all trims of the 2022 Tucson was upgraded to increase the power and handling of this SUV. The 2022 Tucson’s standard powertrain included an 8-speed automatic transmission paired with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque across all trims. The hybrid trims offer a different powertrain, combining a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that pairs with electric motors for a combined 226 horsepower.

The 2022 Tucson also has a front-wheel-drive as the standard, with the option to upgrade to a four-wheel drive on any trim for an additional fee. Front-wheel drive is perfect for standard weather and city and country roads. On the other hand, four-wheel drive may be helpful for drivers living in the mountains or traveling to areas with extreme weather. Keep your family’s needs in mind when deciding whether to upgrade.

These engine improvements in 2022, including the introduction of a plug-in hybrid, make it likely that Hyundai will continue to offer the same powertrain in their 2023 Tucson models. Customers can enjoy continued speed and power with the same careful control they have come to expect from a Tucson.

Fuel Economy

The 2022 Tucson standard trims get a solid 26 miles per gallon in city driving and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. Higher trims are likely to have the same fuel economy as lower trims of the same model unless they are hybrid or electric. The 2022 hybrid version gets up to 38 miles per gallon on the city streets and the highway, increasing the fuel economy.

For the 2023 Tucson, you can expect similar performance as the interior mechanics of the car may be reminiscent of the 2022 model. If Hyundai includes an electric trim on their Tucson model in 2023, it can improve the overall fuel economy of the model, but there’s no confirmation yet of an electric version.

Trims

The 2022 Tucson released a variety of trims that included modern essentials for the driver’s assistance programs on the standard model and increasingly impressive technology and detailing on the higher trims. The trims included with the 2022 Tucson were the SE, the SEL, the N Line, the XRT, and the Limited.

For the 2023 Tucson, Hyundai hasn’t announced any new trims or the elimination of any trim options. However, the N Line trim is a popular option on Hyundai vehicles and incorporates a racing influence, providing a stylish exterior and exciting powertrain changes to invoke a sportier vehicle. It’s possible Hyundai may include an N trim to expand options for customers and intrigue fans of a sportier style. It’s also possible that any improvements may stay within the trim offerings already available.

Release date

The 2022 Tucson is available at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai, along with previous years and other models of popular Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai announced details about the 2022 Tucson during the spring, with later updates on the hybrid model over the summer. Following this pattern, you can likely expect more information about the 2023 Tucson trims and updates during the spring and summer of 2022. This gives you a little time to compare and contrast before the vehicles are available on the market to test drive and take home.

Regarded as one of the premier golf courses in the Woodbridge area, Old Hickory Golf Club combines spectacular scenery and a challenging layout to offer guests an unforgettable golf experience.

Old Hickory Golf Club’s par-72, 7,190-yard championship layout reflects the vision of Tim Freeland, a Jacksonville, Florida, architect who previously worked for golf legend Gary Player’s design firm. Freeland described the course as “gently rolling terrain covered with pine, oak, maple, and hickory.” Bisected by Beaver Creek, the course has about nine holes to the north and nine to the south of the creek.

“The grass on our greens is A4 bent grass, known for creating fast greens,” explained Steve Clark, Old Hickory Golf Club’s director of operations, on the club’s website.

Freeland said the par 3 No. 13, at 180 yards from the back tees, is one of his favorites at Old Hickory Golf Club. “It’s very dramatic with huge bunkers surrounding an elevated green. From the tee, you’re shooting downhill to the fairway and then back up again to the green.”

The Hyundai Palisade has established itself since its release in 2020 as a strong all-around midsize SUV. Its diverse trim lineup, ranging from a luxury interior to more functional setups, provides something for most buyers.

Auto experts think Hyundai may give the Palisade a midcycle update for the 2023 model year with a few changes. Here’s what our team at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai can tell you about what to expect.

What’s New for 2023?

The biggest difference with the new Palisade will stand out the moment you see it since Hyundai has given it a redesigned front end. The new grill is reportedly inspired by the latest Hyundai Tucson, while the LED headlights gain a slimmer appearance. The taillights have also slimmed down a bit compared to the 2022 model.

Inside the cabin, Hyundai is making some upgrades as well. The standard 8-inch infotainment screen in the 2022 model is likely to be replaced by a larger 10.25-inch screen. There’s also speculation about some upgrades to the materials used throughout the cabin.

Engine and Performance

One strong powertrain is available throughout the Palisade lineup. It’s a 291-horsepower V-6 unit paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive configurations of the Palisade are available.

The Palisade gets good gas mileage, with a rating of 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg at highway speeds.

If you plan on towing a camper, boat, or anything else, the Palisade has the power to handle it. The towing capacity for this midsize SUV is 5,000 pounds.

Seating and Cargo

The Palisade is a three-row SUV with adult-friendly seating in all rows. The base setup gives you room for eight people, but the capacity shrinks to seven if you opt to have captain’s chairs in the second row. For kids, there are three sets of LATCH connectors for installing child seating. Two of these are found in the second row and another on the driver’s side in the rear row.

The base Palisade is fitted with cloth upholstery. However, as you move up the trim ladder, you gain access to more luxurious materials, including leather.

Even with a full load of passengers, this Hyundai boasts ample cargo storage space. You’ll find about 18 cubic feet of storage behind the third row. That can be expanded to 45 cubic feet with the rear row folded down. For even more storage, you can access a maximum of 86 cubic feet of capacity with both rear rows folded flat.

Infotainment and Driver Safety Technology

As we explained earlier, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen is a new addition to the base 2023 Palisade model. It will be equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which will make it very straightforward for you to link your phone to your vehicle’s entertainment system. Connecting your phone with either of these applications allows you to stream music and use your favorite phone apps on your infotainment screen.

Other base infotainment features include Bluetooth connectivity and five USB ports, which will help you keep all your devices charged while you’re on the go. You can add several handy upgrades, like wireless device charging and a navigation system. For those of you looking for top-quality sound in your vehicle, check out the optional 12-speaker premium stereo that’s on offer.

In addition to exciting infotainment tech, the Palisade has a long list of driver safety systems to keep you and your passengers protected on the road. The forward collision warning and pedestrian detection features alert you to potential collision threats, while the automatic emergency braking system can intervene in a hurry to bring your vehicle to a stop.

When you hit the highway, the lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control systems can make your job a little easier behind the wheel. The driver drowsiness monitor keeps a check on your reaction times and other behaviors so that it can warn you when you need to take a break.

Finally, the Palisade has several features to help you park and exit parking spaces safely. The rear parking sensors assist you while you’re in reverse, while the rear cross traffic alert will let you know if a vehicle is approaching as you reverse out of a parking spot.

Two optional upgrades in the 2023 Palisade worth mentioning are the head-up display and surround-view parking camera. The display allows you to monitor your vehicle’s performance without taking your eyes off the road up ahead. The surround-view camera provides you with an aerial view of your vehicle on your screen so that you can watch out for obstacles from all angles as you maneuver into a parking spot.

Trims

There are four trims for you to choose from if you’re buying the 2023 Palisade: the SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy.

The SEL trim adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a sunroof. The Premium Package allows you to upgrade to leather upholstery and a power-adjustable passenger’s chair.

Step up to the Limited and you get nappa leather upholstery, dual sunroofs, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. The Palisade lineup is crowned with the luxurious Calligraphy trim, which boasts more upscale materials throughout the cabin and several unique design touches.

Culinaria Cooking School

The Culinaria Cooking School has been a fixture in the Fairfax area since 2008. The school offers a variety of classes in the culinary arts. The school has courses for you whether you want to pursue a career, have a passion for cooking, or are simply looking for something fun to try. It uses a number of techniques for teaching students. In some classes, students watch a demonstration of a chef preparing a multi-course meal. The chef provides students with a step-by-step narration of the meal preparation while students sip wine, ask questions and learn.

A participation class at the Culinaria Cooking School begins with a demonstration. Students then complete the same meal while the instructor answers questions and provides advice. The classes are interactive and meant to teach students by having them take part as well. Class categories include baking, kids and teens, couples cooking, healthy cooking, regional and ethnic, and skills and techniques. The school offers private and corporate events.

Cookology

Cookology offers a wide selection of cooking classes, from fun date nights to a 6-week culinary boot camp. The boot camp series teaches basic cooking skills for novice chefs. The boot camp covers everything from knife skills to cooking techniques. Students learn to make dishes like beef bourguignon, coq au vin, and blackened pork. Cookology also offers numerous other classes for date nights, such as Rainbow Sushi with Mixology. The class teaches how to make complex sushi rolls and miso sauces. The class menu includes rainbow roll, dynamite roll, and sparkling elderflower sake cocktail.

Cookology also has an entire program dedicated to children, including cooking summer camps. Cookology’s options for kids begin with various camps for 5- to 7-year-olds. The campus usually includes a 2-hour workshop up to three days per week. Cookology also offers courses and camps for children aged 8 and older. Some other options include family classes where parents and children can learn together as a group.

Together We Cook

Together We Cook provides fun cooking classes for children. Mari Coelho began Together We Cook to “empower children to be confident in the kitchen.” Coelho attended cooking classes at the Escola Wilma Kövesi cooking school while working as a lawyer in Brazil. Eventually, she decided to share her passion for cooking and began Together We Cook. The class seeks to teach children about cooking and to inspire them to make good, healthy food choices. The classes split children into two age groups: 3- to 6-year-olds and 7- to 14-year-olds. Together We Cook offers courses like “Dinner Together” and “Dumplings from Scratch.” Together We Cook offers virtual classes for children and the whole family.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, the weather causes 21% of car crashes each year. Of these 21% accidents, 70% occur on wet pavement with 46% of them happening during rainfall. It’s important to be alert when you’re driving so you can respond appropriately to changing conditions and adapt to your surroundings. To help you drive more safely, we’ve prepared a list of tips for driving in the rain.

Avoid Driving in the Rain

While not always possible, consider delaying your trip until the rain stops. Stay where you are until the heavy rain slows down or stops completely before you drive. This allows you to avoid putting yourself in a dangerous situation that you feel uncomfortable handling.

Don’t Use Cruise Control

Using cruise control can be convenient during normal driving conditions, such as driving on the highway on a sunny day. However, it’s important to avoid using it when driving during the rain because you may lose control of your vehicle. Driving without cruise control may help keep you engaged when driving. It also allows you to reduce speed more easily as you drive, which is essential when driving in the rain to prevent traction loss in the slick conditions.

Drive Slowly

It’s important to adhere to the speed limit in normal driving conditions, but it’s crucial when driving in the rain. Rain can reduce your vehicle’s reaction time, making it more difficult to respond quickly and safely to hazards. Driving slowly may also prevent you from hydroplaning. To help avoid the temptation of driving too quickly in the rain, consider checking the weather before you need to leave, and factor in extra time for your commute.

Turn On Your Headlights

Be sure to activate your headlights when driving. Most states legally require drivers to have their headlights turned on when it’s raining. This improves your visibility and helps other drivers see you more easily. However, it’s important to avoid using your high beams or hazard lights in the rain. Some states have laws against using them, as these may also cause distractions for other drivers or make it difficult for them to see properly.

Pull Over if There’s No Visibility

If the rain is so heavy that it becomes difficult to see, find a safe location to stop. If you pull over onto the shoulder of the road, be sure to turn on your hazard lights to alert other drivers of your presence. Wait until the rain slows or stops, then safely merge back into traffic to continue your drive.

Monitor Your Tires

Keep an eye on your tires, and check their treads and pressure levels often. It’s important to keep a proactive approach to avoid driving with balding tires. If your tires don’t have any tread, it may be difficult for you to maintain traction when driving on wet roads. If you’re unsure about the current status of your tires, visit a tire center for a professional opinion about whether it’s time to replace your tires.

Drive in the Middle Lanes

When possible, try to drive in the middle lanes. This may help you avoid water that pools in the outside lanes. As a result, you may be able to avoid having to navigate flood-like conditions.

Keep a Safe Distance

Maintain proper distance between you and other vehicles. If possible, try to keep several car lengths between you and other vehicles, and continue to drive slowly. This helps provide you with enough time and distance to brake slowly and safely when necessary.

Brake Slowly

Try to avoid hard braking when driving. If you brake too quickly, your tires may struggle to get the necessary traction they need to slow the vehicle. Instead, remove your foot from the accelerator to allow your vehicle to slow naturally. This provides you with enough time to stop and creates room for other drivers to do the same.

Respond to Skids Properly

Keep calm if your vehicle begins to skid. Avoid slamming on your brakes to help you remain in control of your vehicle. Instead, gently steer in the direction you want to go to in order to help correct your car’s path.

Remain Calm if You Hydroplane

Hydroplaning occurs when your vehicle’s tires no longer have traction on the road and, instead, travel over the water. If you feel your car is beginning to hydroplane, try to remain calm. Avoid steering your vehicle, and slowly remove your foot from the gas so that your car can naturally slow down. Only accelerate again once your car has normal contact with the road again.

Check Your Car Equipment

Check your car’s equipment often to ensure everything functions properly to avoid issues when driving in the rain. For example, verify that all of your headlights and tail lights work, and test your windshield wipers to make sure they clear your windshield well. If you notice any issues, be sure to visit a professional service center to fix them.

Avoid Standing Water

Avoid driving through areas of standing water. It can be difficult to know just how deep water is, and a flooded road may cause your car to take on water or even float. If you notice large areas of standing water, try to turn around, switch lanes, steer around the areas, or, if you have no other options, look for depth gauges that may help you assess how deep the water is before driving through it.

Ventilate Your Car

Try to reduce the fogginess in your vehicle that is caused by the rain’s humidity. Try turning on your rear and front defrosters to help reduce the fog. When combined with windshield wipers, this is often effective for providing a clear visual for driving safely.

Honest Soul Yoga

Honest Soul Yoga offers affordable Pilates classes, friendly instructors, and a unique, intimate studio space. Visitors often enjoy classes, workshops, and lifestyle programs that promote personal growth, community, and health. Their Pilates and flow mat program emphasizes strengthening and toning the legs, glutes, and abs. Some classes also feature hot yoga, which involves performing different poses in a space with a high temperature. The studio organizes classes by intensity instead of experience level. The Core class, for example, involves a moderate intensity and an 80-degree classroom space.

Suzie Mills, an Air Force Veteran, founded Honest Soul Yoga in 2013 after returning home from deployment and wanting to create a positive impact in the world. In 2016, co-owner Julia Lopez joined the team and provided the studio with different yoga programs that involve elements of exercise science. Together, the owners accept participants of all ages and experience levels and aim to create a challenging, inspiring fitness experience.

The Pilates Loft

The Pilates Loft bases its instruction on the teachings and principles of Joseph Pilates, who created this method of body conditioning. They offer private, semiprivate, and small group sessions that instruct you on how to use the classic Pilates apparatus. The studio emphasizes small classes so instructors may focus on participants’ form and technique. Each class addresses your current strengths and weaknesses, helping to improve your balance, posture, strength, and flexibility. New clients must attend a private session before joining group classes to assess their personal needs.

The owner, Alia Staples, is a certified Pilates instructor and possesses one of only 10 studios in the entire United States that offers certification through The New York Pilates Studio Teacher Certification Program. She founded this studio in 2014 after originally opening a studio in Orlando, Florida. She uses her passion for the original teachings of Joseph Pilates to help clients build their strength and health through the original practice of Pilates.

Mind the Mat Pilates & Yoga

Mind the Mat Pilates & Yoga features multiple yoga and Pilates programs that emphasize different strengths, intensity levels, and specializations. Other than intensity-based yoga classes, they offer courses on Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates and Yoga, Vinyasa Style, Barre Pilates, Pilates Boot Camp, Dynamic Core, and Mommy and Me Pilates and Yoga. They also provide workshops, consult and training sessions.

Physical therapist Megan Brown and Yoga specialist Sara VanderGoot opened this studio in Arlington in 2012 after realizing that many clients at their own private practices possessed the same issues regarding neck and back pain, flexibility, and joint issues. Dr. Brown specializes in customizing Pilates classes according to the needs of her clients. VanderGoot’s experience in midwifery, prenatal yoga, and prenatal massage helped her create multiple pregnancy-related programs at Mind the Mat, helping new moms find balance and stability.

Praxi Pilates

Praxi Pilates is a contemporary studio that provides both private and group sessions to help clients reach their physical health goals. Programs include circuit classes, mat classes, and reformer classes. Each of these classes emphasizes a different type of instruction and workout routine for various experience levels and health conditions. For example, reformer classes focus on strength-building exercises for clients recovering from an injury. Each instructor possesses high levels of training to help you reach your individual goals and push you towards success.

Local Motion Project

Local Motion is a nonprofit organization that emphasizes the use of dance throughout most of its programs to help clients express themselves and connect with others. It offers both adult and youth programs with a variety of classes, such as Pilates, ballet, modern dance, tap, belly dance, and aerial hammock. The studio also provides workshops, private, and group sessions. People of all ages and experience levels may join these sessions, as Local Motion hires specialized instructors for their clients’ needs.

Next Phase Arlington

Each phase emphasizes a specific exercise routine and the use of equipment. Most classes are circuit-based to help trainees rest in between exercises. Each trainer on the team possesses expert training and knowledge to help you reach your goals.

Better Body

Better Body studio focuses on the classical Pilates techniques created by Joseph Pilates, but also offers contemporary options for client’s development and success. You may attend private classes or group sessions, depending on your experience and preferences. Clients can also receive personalized sessions based on their needs and desires. Instructors all possess backgrounds in physical therapy, dance, personal training, martial arts, and exercise physiology. This ensures that clients can receive the best training from experts in the field.

Krisi Frazee founded Better Body with compassion and specializes in clients with physical disabilities, chronic pain, plus those recovering from surgery. Her goals include bringing innovation and progress with the traditional approach to Pilates.

For a car that serves both your needs and wants, consider the newest installment of the Hyundai Elantra. From having great gas mileage to boasting a sleek, subtle design on both the exterior and interior we have the 2022 Hyundai Elantra. Like other modern sedans, it has a look that gives the appearance of elegance and efficiency, all while having a style that only a Hyundai can fully offer you. With a grill that features bold patterning underneath a chrome finish, you can count on this edition of Hyundai to make a car with new trims that stand out.

This Hyundai spacious interior, despite its compact size, makes it a feature piece among the competition. With an upturned angle in the headlights, as well as crested modeling on the door and sides of this vehicle, it can be both a unique and aesthetically pleasing option for your next way to commute. Below we’re going to list some of the newest trim features, as well as spec details for this new Elantra, so you can understand what next car you may be driving.

What are the engine and performance specs for the 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

Before investigating whether you want an Elantra, it may help to consider some specs about the car’s engine and overall performance. This standard, the non-hybrid vehicle has a 147-hp cylinder engine. It has both front-wheel drive and a CVT, making it a capable vehicle for both on-road commutes and traveling through snow and ice. If you want to consider the hybrid model of the Elantra, it uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor to create 139 horsepower of transit material. Both types of engines offer relatively good driving power for daily commutes, uphill driving, and highway use.

How’s the fuel economy?

When considering a new car, fuel economy can be an important aspect to evaluate, depending on how much you drive. This edition of the Elantra doesn’t disappoint with saving on gas, regardless of whether you’re making your commute every day or taking a trip across the state. According to EPA estimates the 2.0-liter four-cylinder Elantra earns up to about 33 mpg in the city, while it earns about 43 mpg on average for the highway. When undergoing evaluation tests, the non-hybrid model had an average of 38 mpg, while the hybrid edition of the same model managed 48 mpg.

Interior details of the Hyundai Elantra

While the trimming on the outside of the vehicle is stylish, you shouldn’t miss what the inside has to offer. The cabin of the Elantra features a wrap-around dashboard that looks both modern and durable. Once it reaches each side of the vehicle, however, the dashboard area shrinks for a minimalistic style, giving both you and your passengers more room and arm space. The dashboard has a single LED strip that traces its edge, adding to the overall lighting of the car and the futuristic feel.

A vent also spans the entirety of the dashboard, giving each passenger customized temperature setting options. Each seat has sustainable legroom for five passengers without issue. In the trunk, a traveler could fit six suitcases inside without needing to use the back row as storage.

Safety and technology inside the new Elantra

The Hyundai has many technology add-ns that allow you to say safe and comfortable while on the road. It comes with the option to add a 10-inch digital display to the dashboard that allows for music, navigation, and safety enhancements. Another 10-inch display is behind the wheel, showing your speed dials as well as other maintenance features. On any screen, passengers and drivers can adjust interfaces such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Everyone in the car can also enjoy Wi-fi connections while inside the vehicle.

If you want to access many features hands-free, you can by using the voice recognition feature to adjust things like the music, climate, or navigation settings. Driver assistance features within the Hyundai Elantra as a standard feature. With automatic braking for pedestrian protection and object avoidance for both the front and back, you can navigate confidently around tight turns and crowded areas. Lane departure warnings allow you to drive for long distances, helping keep you alert of the sides of the road. Adaptive cruise control can also help you keep a consistent speed, with a lane-centering feature for improved long-term navigation.

What makes the trim different on this Elantra?

There are three trim levels to this model: SE, SEL, and Limited. Al; three keep things both simple and unique for both the inside and outside of the car.

The SE trim is the baseline for the Elantra, featuring a 147 horsepower 2-liter 4-cylinder engine. There are three drive modes in this edition: Smart, Normal, and Sport. Each driving mode encourages different settings within the engine to prioritize different vehicle behaviors. With both automatic hand-lamp control and body-color door handles, you can get into and light your car with ease before getting on the road. The SE Trim edition of the car has an eight-inch touchscreen on the center of the dash as well as a four-inch display for driving information.

The SEL trim has many differences from the SEL trim that you may find significant enough to consider a purchase. It has a larger display than the SE’s eight inches, with a center console screen that’s 10 inches long. The exterior features dark chrome rather than chrome, extra LED lighting, and 16-inch alloy wheels. With even more technological add ons, such as Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance, you can depend on this SEL version to help keep you safe and comfortable.

The Limited Trim offers everything that the SEL trim has to offer, with bonus materials as well. It features even more headlamps, taillamps, LED daytime running lights, and chrome window trim. This limited trim also features larger wheels and a sunroof that can bring refreshment to anyone inside. The screen for navigation is even larger, stretching 10.25 inches for navigation, safety, and more.

Whether you’re in the market for a comfortable ride, or just looking for a new way to make your daily commute, investing in a 2022 Hyundai Elantra may be the deal for you. With three trims to choose from, you can find a new car that not only functions the way you want it to but has all the features you need in your engine and at your fingertips. Consider creating your own Elantra today to get the newest experience in automotive technology.
