Dog Parks Around Manassas, VA
Thursday, 18 August, 2022
If you want to give your dog a chance to burn off some energy, your backyard may not cut it. Even if you have a lot of space in your backyard, it can be good to get your pup out and have them socialize with other furry friends. In this article, you can explore some of the best dog parks around Manassas, Virginia so you can discover where to take your dog on your next outdoor adventure.
K9 Gunner Memorial Dog Park

K9 Gunner Memorial Dog Park is a dog park on Minnieville Road in Woodbridge. There are two separate areas within the dog park so small dogs can play separately from large dogs. Large dogs over 20 pounds go to their designated area, while small dogs have their own area. Each park has agility equipment, including balance boards and hurdles, set up within their fences. You can also choose toys from the toy bins if you don’t have any with you.
If you show up to K9 Gunner Memorial Dog Park empty-handed, you won’t have to worry because the park provides most of the supplies you need. There are several drums that collect rainwater for pups’ water consumption on a hot day. This easy access to water can ensure that your pup stays cool and hydrated even if you forget their normal water jug at home. There’s also a section of the park that has recycled grocery bags available so you can pick up your dog’s waste.
When you arrive at K9 Gunner Memorial Dog Park, you can park in one of the several designated parking spots located on-site so you don’t have to worry about your vehicle getting towed. Make sure you keep your dog on its leash until you get into one of the fenced-in areas. The same goes for when you’re leaving the park.
Note that each handler can bring up to two dogs with them, allowing you to make the trip a family affair. If your household has more than two dogs and you want to bring them all, be sure to invite another adult with you so they can serve as an extra handler and pair of eyes.
While no one anticipates their pups quarreling with other dogs at the dog park, K9 Gunner Memorial Dog Park has set up air horns on some of the fences as safety precautions. You can quickly blow these air horns to cause a distraction and break up any incidents that happen to occur. K9 Gunner Memorial Park operates largely on donations, so you may want to consider donating a few dollars after your visit to help keep the park going.
Barkhaus
Barkhaus is a restaurant and bar that has an indoor and outdoor dog park. You can visit Barkhaus with one dog per handler, so be sure to bring other human guests along if you have more than one pup. Dogs are allowed to run free in the indoor and outdoor dog park areas, and you can keep them on their leashes when they’re inside the restaurant and bar area.
You can first enjoy a meal inside the restaurant and choose from delicious menu items like steak tacos or Korean chicken wings. Your pup can also enjoy a snack off the dog menu. Once you fill up, you can take your pup to the indoor or outdoor play area where they can play with other fully vaccinated dogs. You can also check out Barkhaus’ website for specific events, as the establishment hosts several each month. Examples of past events include an adoption day and theme-specific days that encourage attendees, human and canine, to attend in specific attire.
Fort Barnard Dog Park
Fort Barnard Dog Park is an expansive park in Arlington, Virginia. Feel free to come here later in the day if you need your pup to burn off some energy before bedtime, as the park’s lights stay on until 9:00 p.m. Your pup can go off-leash in any of the designated canine areas. If you want to bring your whole family with you, there are plenty of other activities for humans. Your kids can enjoy a game of soccer or baseball on the designated athletic fields while you keep an eye on your furry family member.
Fort Ethan Allen Dog Park
Fort Ethan Allen Dog Park is another comprehensive park in Arlington. There are benches for you to sit on while you watch your dog play and drinking fountains for both humans and pups. The fenced-in dog areas have mulch ground cover that is gentle on your pup’s paws and prevents them from overheating on hot summer days.
Quinn Farm Dog Park
Quinn Farm Dog Park is a dog park with plenty of open space in Chantilly, Virginia. It’s a secluded area that’s set far back from roads, enabling you to enjoy a peaceful and safe day away from bustling activity. The owners, who have pets of their own, are sociable and enjoyable to talk with while you watch your pup play. They provide trash cans, pooper scoopers, and water bowls to share.
If you feel like waking up early, it’s generally very quiet in the early morning hours. Even if you make a day trip to Quinn Farm Dog Park, it’s never overcrowded. The play area is big and flat with no hills, so your dog can run around safely and make new furry friends.
With this knowledge in tow, the only thing left to fuel your weekend adventures with your pup is a vehicle in which you can transport them to their new favorite parks. If you’re in need of a new family vehicle to drive your four-legged family members around, feel free to visit our dealership at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai. We’ll have one of our sales agents show you all our available inventory, including new Hyundai vehicles and pre-owned vehicles. We’ll also discuss details such as financing options and service plans so you can make your new purchase with confidence.

2023 Santa Fe: What’s New
Thursday, 28 July, 2022
Thanks to premium features, impressive performance, and top-of-the-line safety, the adventurous Santa Fe has been a favorite in the midsize crossover SUV sector for years. We fully expect the 2023 model to be no different, especially since there will be some updates and changes to make it even better than the current 2022 model. The Koons Woodbridge Hyundai team is here to help you see what’s new on the 2023 Santa Fe.
2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai has brought back the popular Santa Fe for another model year. This SUV won’t hit the streets until later in the year, but we’ve already seen some of the options and updates available. Inside and out, there are a series of updates to make your ride better. A recent overhaul has brought the Hyundai Santa Fe a step above the competition in this highly competitive market. Updated features help it stand above the rest, and we expect the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe to remain a top contender among other midsize SUVs.
Engine Options and Performance
Not much will change regarding engine options and powertrains for the 2023 Santa Fe. The base engine option is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission that cranks out 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. With a higher trim, such as the Limited, you get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed transmission capable of delivering up to 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. You can still maintain an impressive fuel economy with an EPA-estimated 28 mpg for highway driving and 22 mpg in the city.
The Santa Fe can be equipped with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, allowing you to choose which better fits your lifestyle. The all-wheel drive will enable you to navigate various terrain and weather easily. Whichever engine you decide on, you’ll find potent power and responsive handling perfect for daily highway driving for your work commute or tackling low-speed maneuvers.
Comfort and Interior Options
With significant updates for the 2021 model year, the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe will continue to impress when it comes to comfort, style, and technology. The front seats offer various adjustment options and are comfortable for both driver and passenger. Available options will include heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. Easy to use climate controls will ensure everyone is comfortable no matter what the weather is like outside. The cabin keeps things nice and quiet to enjoy a relaxing ride without road and ambient noise.
An ample amount of space will allow everyone inside to relax and enjoy the road ahead. With space enough to fit five, you’ll find plenty of cargo room, legroom, and headroom. The available panoramic sunroof allows you to see the sky whenever you want. You also get a 60/40 folding rear seat and standard stain-resistant cloth upholstery with the SE. The SEL has a power-adjustable driver’s seat, while the Limited adds a heated steering wheel. The top-of-the-line luxury Calligraphy will add ambient interior lighting, quilted leather seating, and a faux-suede headliner.
When it comes to staying connected and using infotainment features, the 2023 Santa Fe will make it easier than ever. Updates to the large 10.25-inch touch screen will make it faster and more responsive to touch. You can also connect via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to listen to your favorite songs, follow navigation directions, and even answer or return calls with just the press of a button. Also included are plenty of USB ports for charging and a convenient wireless charging station.
Attention Demanding Exterior Style
Since the last major update, the Santa Fe has been turning heads with an array of attention-demanding exterior features. The SE will come with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and bold paint choices. The SEL adds keyless entry, roof rails, and heated side mirrors. With the sporty SRT, you’ll get black accents, including the roof rails, wheels, and exterior cladding.
The Limited will add a hands-free liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, and 19-inch wheels. You’ll also get upgraded LED headlights and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The luxurious Santa Fe Calligraphy will come with a unique trim, 20-inch wheels, and the aforementioned features. The 2023 Santa Fe has more to offer now than ever before and is guaranteed to turn heads as you pass by others on the road.
Enhanced Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Each 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe will have enhanced safety and driver-assistance features. These features include a forward collision mitigation system to warn you of an impending collision and even apply the brakes in certain circumstances. You also get a lane-keeping assist system to bring you back into your lane if you drift over the lines. The driver attention warning lets you know if your vehicle thinks you’re becoming tired while behind the wheel. Lastly, you’ll find an adaptive cruise control system that will maintain a distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
First Impression of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe
The Hyundai Santa Fe has always been popular among drivers looking for a mid-size SUV. It has received a series of updates in the last several years, and we’re looking forward to what the 2023 model year has to bring to the table. Features such as the bold exterior with a newly designed grille, impressive fuel-conscious performance, and top-of-the-line safety captured our attention, but the interior kept us. The advanced technology and almost luxurious finishes will keep both driver and passengers comfortable on any trip.

The 2022 Nissan Altima has a starting price of $24,550. A variety of trims are available for less than $30,000. If you buy the Platinum trim with all-wheel drive as standard, expect to pay around $34,250, according to Kelly Blue Book.
As you can see, both vehicles are in similar price ranges and meet similar budgets. Neither vehicle has the upper hand in terms of price alone, but checking out the performance and features of each sedan will offer more insight.
Performance
The 2022 Hyundai Sonata has great fuel economy, and the option of a hybrid vehicle truly elevates this car to the next level. The Sonata offers 191 horsepower at 6,100 RPM and gets about 32 miles to the gallon. The N Line Sonata is extra sporty, offering a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. You’ll also notice sporty suspension on this trim to go with the 290-horsepower engine.
The 2022 Altima on the other hand offers a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. In addition to front-wheel drive, this sedan also comes with all-wheel drive. The base model offers slightly less horsepower than the Sonata with 182 horsepower. If you choose the SR trim, you’ll get 248-horsepower and a 2-liter turbo engine, but you sacrifice the all-wheel drive option.
Towing Capabilities
One thing is clear: the Nissan Altima is not a recommended vehicle if you plan to tow anything. In fact, the vehicle has a towing capacity of about 1,000 pounds. The same actually applies to the Hyundai Sonata, so neither car has the upper hand in this category.
Cabin & Cargo Space
The new Hyundai Sonata seats five people. This sedan also offers several trim options, and the SEL trim is one of the more comfortable choices. This offers leather upholstery and heated front seats, but you will still get a lot of use out of the base model with its cloth seats. This vehicle also offers a spacious cabin with comfortable chairs, but the large space available makes the Sonata feel more like a larger car compared to a midsize vehicle. In part, this is also thanks to a 16-cubic-foot trunk. The Sonata is much more versatile in terms of space.
The Nissan Altima also offers comfortable and supportive seats for five people, but the fact that this vehicle is a midsize sedan becomes most apparent when you look at the cabin. The leg room will be much tighter compared to the Sonata, and you only get 15.4 cubic feet in the trunk. If you prefer a smaller car, the Altima may be appealing.
Technology
If you opt to purchase the Hyundai Sonata S trim, you’ll get a 7-inch touchscreen. The Hyundai Sonata with the SV trim and above has an 8-inch touchscreen in addition to Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a USB port. The tech is simple to use, all the while still offering full functionality. You can even use your key fob and smartphone to unlock your car doors or start your vehicle. The Sonata is equipped with a remote option for smart parking if you purchase the Limited trim. The driver can stand outside the vehicle and allow it to remotely correct a parking job between two straight lines.
The Nissan Altima is no slouch either when it comes to technology. The 2022 Altima features an advanced display beginning at the SV trim, which offers a 7-inch screen and more functionality than the base trim. This creates a breezier driving experience. The ProPilot assist feature, available in the SV Premium and SR packages, offers adaptive cruise control and steering assistance so you never have to worry about straying from your lane.
Safety
The Hyundai Sonata comes with a variety of safety features, including auto emergency braking and auto high beams. Additionally, this vehicle offers adaptive cruise control to make your trip safe and comfortable. You’ll also be able to take advantage of side-view mirror cameras that appear when you turn on your turn signals, illuminating would-be blind spots.
The Nissan Altima offers a variety of safety benefits. Starting with the SV trim, this car offers Safety Shield 360, which monitors your blind spots, provides alerts for rear cross-traffic, and tells you when you have deviated from your lane. The more luxurious trims also offer a navigation system in addition to a semi-autonomous driving feature called ProPilot Assist.
Warranty Options
The Hyundai Sonata offers a longer warranty than the Nissan Altima. The basic warranty for the 2022 Hyundai Sonata is five years or 60,000 miles, but the powertrain warranty may last longer based on the trim you choose.
The 2022 Nissan Altima has a basic warranty of three years or 36,000 miles and a powertrain warranty of five years or 60,000 miles. If you are looking for a longer guarantee, the Sonata is the better option, but the Altima is not a bad deal either.
The Verdict
When we compare these sedans, it’s easy to see the many positive components of each model. Both 2022 vehicles offer a lot in the way of technology, safety, space, and performance.
So, which vehicle comes out the victor in this comparison? Koons Woodbridge Hyundai prefers the Hyundai Sonata, though both cars have a lot to offer. If you are ready to test drive a Hyundai Sonata and make that call for yourself, visit our lot and see which car meets your needs.

If you’re searching for a two-row SUV, Hyundai has two great choices for you to consider. The Hyundai Tucson and Hyundai Santa Fe can both accommodate five passengers, but they also have some differences you should get to know in order to decide which crossover is right for you. We’ve got both vehicles in our Woodbridge showroom, so if you’d like to find out more about them or arrange a test drive, don’t hesitate to contact us here at Koons Woodbridge Hyundai.
What Are the Hyundai Tucson and Santa Fe?

The Hyundai Tucson is a compact SUV. It features around 38 cubic feet of cargo storage at the rear and seating for five passengers. If you can afford to sacrifice the rear row, you can open up 74 cubic feet of storage by folding the seats flat.
The Tucson has one engine option throughout its lineup: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit with 187 horsepower. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but you can upgrade to all-wheel drive at an extra cost.
The Hyundai Santa Fe is a slightly larger two-row SUV than the Tucson. Its extra foot of body length put it in the mid-sized SUV class rather than the Tucson’s compact SUV segment.
Both rows of the Santa Fe offer adult-friendly seating. Two adults or three kids can comfortably sit in the second row. At the rear, you’ll find over 36 cubic feet of cargo-carrying capacity, which you can expand to more than 72 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
The Santa Fe’s base engine is the same one you find in the Tucson, but it’s tuned up to produce 191 horsepower. The second engine option is a more robust turbocharged unit with 281 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission supports both engines.
Advantages of the Hyundai Tucson
The Tucson is an excellent choice for buyers on a modest budget. Its MSRP is about $2,000 lower than the Santa Fe. Despite its lower price tag, the Tucson is still well-equipped with entertainment and safety tech in its standard setup.
You may also prefer the Tucson if you prioritize a crossover with good fuel efficiency. In its front-wheel-drive configuration, the Tucson gets 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, while these numbers drop slightly with all-wheel drive to 24 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. By contrast, the Santa Fe’s gas mileage stats are a respectable 25 mpg on city roads and 28 mpg at highway speeds. With the turbocharged engine, gas mileage drops to 22 mpg in the city but remains the same for highway driving.
Another advantage offered by the Tucson is that it has slightly more cargo capacity than the Santa Fe. The difference is slight, with just over 38 cubic feet of storage space compared to 36 cubic feet. But if your family regularly travels with a lot of bags and other equipment for the daily commute to school and work, the extra space could make all the difference.
Advantages of the Hyundai Santa Fe
The Santa Fe could be the best choice if you want a crossover with solid acceleration. Its optional turbocharged engine makes this crossover a commanding vehicle to drive at highway speeds, with plenty of passing power. You can also put the Santa Fe’s additional power to use on rougher terrain by equipping it with all-wheel drive.
If you plan on using your SUV to tow a trailer or camper, the Santa Fe could be your first choice. With the turbocharged engine, the Santa Fe can tow up to 3,500 pounds, which gives you enough capacity to haul a mid-sized camper or boat. Even the smaller engine can tow 2,000 pounds, enough for a small camper. The Tucson can also tow up to 2,000 pounds.
Both Hyundais have a strong infotainment system, but the Santa Fe has a slight edge if you want the best performance and connectivity options. The Santa Fe offers a 12-speaker premium stereo compared to the Tucson’s eight-speaker system. The Santa Fe also gives you an additional two USB ports, a larger digital gauge cluster, and a standard keyless entry.
Benefits Offered by Both Vehicles
Despite their significant differences, both Hyundai crossovers share a lot in common. Hyundai’s extra-long factory warranty is one strength, which provides five years or 60,000 miles of coverage. This protection is much better than most other automakers, which tend to offer just three years of coverage.
Furthermore, both vehicles have spacious seating in both rows. Adult passengers can easily travel in the rear row of the Tucson or Santa Fe without giving up much on comfort, thanks to ample headroom and legroom. Both crossovers also have the equipment to install at least two child seats in the rear row, so you’ll have no trouble taking your kids along for the ride.
Finally, the Tucson and Santa Fe are both equipped with a wide array of modern safety technology. The Santa Fe and Tucson boast standard features, like forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. Highway drivers will benefit from adaptive cruise control, which adjusts your speed to keep a safe distance from other motorists.
Even features like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are often available as optional extras in many vehicles, are provided in the base set up in the Santa Fe. Both vehicles also have a driver drowsiness monitor to warn you when to take a break.
We hope that comparing these two great crossovers has helped you decide whether you should put the Tucson or Santa Fe at the top of your shopping list. In case of any outstanding questions, you can browse additional information about each vehicle in our online inventory, including trim levels, vehicle colors, and much more.

The 2023 Hyundai Sonata: What’s New!
Thursday, 09 June, 2022
The mid-sized Sonata sedan is now in its seventh generation, which proves how this versatile vehicle has built up a loyal following over the years. The seventh-generation Sonata was released in 2020. The 2023 model will stick to the key features that have attracted Sonata buyers in recent times: strong fuel economy, a good engine lineup, and an affordable price tag.
2023 Sonata Engine and Performance

In its base setup, the 2023 Sonata is powered by a 191-horsepower four-cylinder engine that’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This is a solid engine for daily driving that has no problem shifting your sedan up to highway speeds.
For a touch more pace when you hit the accelerator, you can upgrade to a turbocharged four-cylinder unit that puts out 180 horsepower. Alternatively, if you prefer the feel of riding a sports car, check out the Sonata N Line, which has a turbocharged engine under the hood that can pump out 290 horsepower and move the Sonata from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds.
The base engine or the smaller turbocharged unit are the wisest choices if you want the 2023 Sonata to achieve its best fuel economy ratings of 27 mpg on city roads and 37 mpg on the highway. The gas mileage numbers drop slightly in the N Line to 23 mpg and 33 mpg respectively.
2023 Sonata Interior
The Sonata’s interior is welcoming for adult passengers in both rows thanks to ample legroom and headroom. It’s also equipped to accommodate child seating, with two sets of LATCH connectors on the outward rear seats and a tether anchor in the middle.
Cloth upholstery is standard in the Sonata. However, if you choose to move up the trim ladder, you can gain access to added luxuries such as heated front seats, and suede and synthetic leather upholstery.
The trunk can hold a maximum of 16 cubic feet of cargo. If you need to transport larger items, you can make use of the split rear folding seat to create more space.
Sonata Infotainment and Safety Technology
An 8-inch screen and six-speaker stereo are the main features of the Sonata’s base infotainment system. It’s equipped with an array of connectivity options, such as BlueTooth, a USB port, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
If you want to take entertainment to the next level, consider upgrading to a whopping 10.25-inch touch screen and a premium 12-speaker stereo. Other optional technology that may come in handy includes a navigation system and wireless device charging.
Another strength of the Sonata is its extensive selection of standard driver safety features. The forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking systems can reduce the risk of accidents by warning you of dangers and taking evasive action when necessary.
When you’re driving at highway speeds, adaptive cruise control can adjust your speed to help you maintain a safe distance from other motorists, while the lane keep assist feature can keep you on the right track. If you regularly drive long distances, you’ll benefit from the driver drowsiness monitor, which records your reaction times and other behaviors to determine when it’s appropriate for you to take a break.
The Sonata offers some safety upgrades, including parking sensors and a surround-view parking camera to help you maneuver in and out of tight spots. Blind spot monitoring is also on offer.
2023 Sonata Trims and Configurations
You can choose from five Sonata trims for 2023: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, N Line, and Limited. The lower trims are a great choice if you’re looking for a sedan with great fuel economy for the daily commute. For a touch more performance, check out the higher trims, especially the N Line and Limited.
On top of the Sonata’s base features, the SEL trim includes heated front seats and a safety exit warning, which alerts passengers if a vehicle is approaching from behind when they’re getting out of the car. The driver gains a power adjustable seat, while the automatic climate control helps to keep the cabin’s temperature comfortable.
Some significant changes come with the SEL Plus trim, including the turbocharged engine, the larger infotainment screen, and suede and synthetic leather upholstery. You’ll also get a sunroof, a digital gage cluster, and a navigation system.
The N Line trim is powered by the 290-horsepower turbocharged engine. The cabin gains a sportier look too, with front sports seats and a dual clutch eight-speed automatic transmission. For some further unique styling elements, you can add the Night Edition package to the N Line trim.
The top trim is the Limited, and its cabin doesn’t disappoint. You can relax into genuine leather seats, which are ventilated in the front row. Other features include a power-adjustable seat for the front-row passenger and the surround-view parking camera.
Hyundai also sells the Sonata as a hybrid car. If you choose the Sonata Hybrid, your sedan will be powered by a 2.0-liter engine supported by an electric motor to produce a combined 192 horsepower. The power train is completed by a six-speed automatic transmission and a battery pack, which is located under the rear seats.
The Sonata Hybrid’s gas mileage numbers are an impressive 50 mpg in the city and 54 mpg on the highway. Hyundai offers the Sonata Hybrid in three trims: Blue, SEL, and Limited.
We hope that our overview of the 2023 Sonata has helped in your search for a new mid-sized sedan. The Sonata is a great choice whether you’re searching for a car for city driving or a vehicle with a more sporty feel to it.
If we haven’t yet answered all of your questions about the Sonata, we’re here to help. You have various options to contact us, including by phone, email, or dropping by our Washington-area dealership to chat to one of our team in person. We’d be happy to help you finalize your purchase, including by arranging competitive auto financing or a test drive so you can see for yourself how the Sonata performs on the road.
